Back home from 3 1/2 month motorhome road trip and starting to do upgrades suggested here.
First one done this week, had JTR gears changed from 4.10 to 4.88’s. Responsiveness from stop feels much more appropriate and first small test on highway at approximately 65mph had trans using 7th & 8th...
Thanks for the background. To date I’ve not had any problems with the ECU swap that was done last year, but I’ve not utilized the TD2 beyond setting the tire height. When we get back to WI I planned on a gear change (April) but now with Kurt’s experiences I’m planning on doing the intake...
Would you expand on this for me? After being out with the motorhome and towing the JTR along with us, we’ll be back home in a couple of weeks and I plan on making some of the mods in this thread. I originally purchased the TD2 when the lift and 37’s were put on but other than that have not done...
Kurt,
I’ve been following your changes and plan on exhaust, and intake as you’ve previously suggested when return home next month. Instead of the Pulsar, my intent is to use the TrailDash2 that I already have for the Gladiator for the tune. First, do you see any issues with this approach, and...
I’m running 37/13.50R20 Milestar Patagonia MT Tires. I ordered the same tire but for the original stock 17” rim. Fit is tight but with some persuasion was able to get spare mounted underneath. Also lowered air pressure some, as well. Nonetheless, am carrying
the 37” Patagonia underneath.
Some snorkels use that panel, although still may be able mount mirror as well. Also, some manufacturers use that area to anchor their light bar pillars (e.g. KC). That said, I’m sure those after market suppliers would make changes to support both if mirrors were mounted there.
Superchips TrailDash2 also works with the Gladiator. My understanding is that where the Pulsar modifies the signals into the ECM, the TrailDash2 requires an ECM unlock and directly modifies the ECM memory. It’s also my understanding that in addition to canned tunes, the TrailDash 2 can...
Bed. We tow it behind motorhome. Used the need for more space to haul necessary”stuff” while traveling as justification to trade in JK for Gladiator.
Thank you for the videos, they were very helpful in understanding the basic ECU operation. As another stated here, once I started I binged on all 6 you posted. Refreshingly, it fed my nerdy side!
To clarify, to get to the MPG you’re seeing, you used the Mopar CAI, Superchips Pulsar, and...
We take our 100lb plus Golden Retriever with us most places we take the Gladiator, same with the Wrangler Unlimited we had before the truck. In all cases, we have a custom cover made for the rear seat. The covers look very good ($200-300) and unless one is looking closely, most don't even...
Sting -Gray is what I ordered, very, very happy with the color. As to the vote of Sarge or Nacho, I’d choose neither. If I was forced to choose, I’d say the least worst of those two is Sarge.
I run the same size on 20” wheels and a 3 1/2” Metalcloak Game Changer lift. Took a while to get them balanced correctly. Tried balance beads first but recommended amount of beads would not balance, so had them removed and balanced with tape weights. Took quite a bit more weight than I expected...
Very interesting concept. For me the ease of quickly opening the roof panels would be a welcome convenience, but the real lure is the storage aspect. We tow ours behind our motorhome, usually quite a bit of gear in the box and the dog in the back seat. Doesn't leave much room for the panel...
For the steering aspect of the vehicle on roads only, I most likely would not have it replaced. The thing that worries me is the additional torque that may be incurred on the steering box during off-road driving. Assuming the stock box is aluminum (which I understand it to be), will it hold...
