I totally get that man. It was definitely a struggle to justify spending $4k on a new set of shocks. I wanted a true suspension lift so somehow that justified it for me.
Mine was doing exactly what you are describing. Don’t know why but it drove me nuts. There’s a dip in a retail shopping center that used to make my front end slam at about 20 mph.. Driving 45-50 on dirt roads and hitting dips would cause it as well. This was With only the factory plastic...
I wouldn’t have bought a Gladiator if ACC wasn’t an option. I absolutely love it and will never own a vehicle (unless it’s a classic) without it again.
Kept the Fox bump stops and no, definitely not bottoming out as much as I used to with the Factory Mojave suspension.
I used the EVO 2.5” bump stop extensions front and rear and tested to make sure shocks aren’t over compressed. Seems like this springs/shock combo soaks up the bumps better and...
Learned to drive in this bad boy. 1954 CJ-2B Willys that my grandpa used as a ranch vehicle and it’s still alive and kickin’. Converted it to a 12 volt system about a decade ago and completely rebuilt the original engine. It’ll rattle your teeth out but will go absolutely anywhere.
I ordered them from crutchfield and they include vehicle-specific wiring harnesses at no charge. You could cut the factory wires and solder them or use butt connectors but the harnesses included with mine worked great.
Add me to the list of blurry backup cameras. Was crystal clear when picked it up in January. On random occasions is goes back to being clear and sharp but most of the time it’s like beer goggles.
Apparently this is a thing…

I called EVO and they said I need to take it to a shop that knows what they are doing. The guy I spoke with, Melvin, said they’ve never lowered a transfer case. We’ll...
Spent the last couple of weekends installing an EVO 2.5” Overland kit, King Shocks, and Metalcloak track bars/control arms. Took it to get aligned and the shop told me I needed a kit to lower my transfer case because my front pinion angle was too steep and if I didn’t drop it at least 1/2 inch...
Well. After about 6 hours laying across the engine bay with a compact sawzall, 21 Milwaukee 6-inch 24tpi sawblades, and a lot of cold beer in the 102 Texas heat while my dad sat on a bucket slowly rotating the spinning upper shock bolt I was finally able to cut out the spinning press nut...
I don’t want to talk about how I managed to do this but I tightened my upper shock bolt on the driver’s side of my Mojave too tight and managed to get it through the welded nut in the shock tower past the threaded portion of the bolt. Now it just spins and I can’t get it out. there is...
Thanks!
I didn't necessarily have to use different shocks. EVO sells 2.5" extensions that will allow you to re-use the factory Fox Internal Bypass shocks, which would probably be great. I went with the Kings because I liked that they are valved specifically for the EVO springs. They ride...
