I have been looking at the AEV lift but wanted to look at suspension lifts in that same range...I like the EVO lift but seeing people getting 4+ inches out of it makes me think its a bit more than I want. Hoping we have some real-world examples of a true 2.5-3" lift...

Ive looked at the MC lift but it seems this is purely a leveling kit that only deals with the front part of the equation.

The game changer is a full kit.

also look into the Clayton kits… good reviews on them too. And by experience… having a 3.5” lift with 37’s is like a wrangler on 2.5” lift with 35’s. The break over is horrible and the length of the bed will nip at you all the time.

Its less about the actual lift height and more about the "advertised" height vs actual height..

I actually just did a 2.5" EVO lift with the black King 2.5 EVO-spec shocks over the holiday weekend. Previously I had installed the AEV 2 inch spacer lift and just wasn't happy running on preloaded springs.

I gained 2" in the front and 1.5" in the rear over the AEV 2" spacer lift so 4" in the front and 3.5" in the rear over stock.

I knew there would be a significant increase in height so I added Metalcloak front and rear track bars to recenter the axles and Clayton Offroad swaybar links (those things are kind of dinky and may upgrade to a heavier duty set in the future).

I love it. The springs are a little softer than the stock Mojave and the King Shocks seem to be badass. The ride is great. I have Cooper STT Pro's 315/70/17's and, although I think 37's would look good but I'm super happy with how it turned out.

Oh and if you zoom in on the front shocks you'll notice the reservoirs are held to the main shock with hose clamps. The folks at King forgot to send the mounting hardware and are overnighting them to me today. Desperate times call for interesting solutions.

Thats one of the better 35" JTs I have seen running around. I like it...

If you are going to replace the upgraded Mojave suspension you don't really need a Mojave specific lift.

100% true. All you need are front shocks with 14mm bushings.

Maybe...It depends on how much you are replacing...

Looks GREAT. Two questions.

1. Did you HAVE to use different shocks than the Mojave ones for this lift?
2. What brand front bumper is that?

Thanks!

I didn't necessarily have to use different shocks. EVO sells 2.5" extensions that will allow you to re-use the factory Fox Internal Bypass shocks, which would probably be great. I went with the Kings because I liked that they are valved specifically for the EVO springs. They ride great but so did the Fox's. What I will say is that the Kings have drastically more travel than the Fox's. I was pretty shocked how little downtravel the Fox front shocks had when I removed them but I know they aren't necessarily designed for that.

The bumper is the Rugged Ridge Arcus. I love it. Was looking for a bumper in between stubby and mid-width that would keep the factory fog lights and this one was it. The only criticisim I have is that the finish on it isn't that great. I may take it off one of these days and have it powder coated.

I have a few more questions before I pull the trigger.

1. Any reason why you got the MetalCloak Front / Rear Track bars instead of the EVO ones that you can get with the kit? Any advantages to using the MetalClock ones? Better quality / value?

2. What did you end up doing for the swaybar links? You mentioned them being dinky. You still recommend them or another brand?

3. Do you know what stage EVO kit you purchased?

3. What brand wheels are those?

Question, with the new shocks and springs, did you keep the Fox bump stops and if so do you bottom out as much as with the stock Fox suspension?

Kept the Fox bump stops and no, definitely not bottoming out as much as I used to with the Factory Mojave suspension.

I used the EVO 2.5” bump stop extensions front and rear and tested to make sure shocks aren’t over compressed. Seems like this springs/shock combo soaks up the bumps better and I have yet to make contact with bump stops while driving.
