  1. Cheap Gas Kills Your Engine

Up here in Calgary North Pole, (yes it is snowing today), you can spend over $8cad/gallon for premium 91. Can’t imagine putting in Ultra Premium 94 and having to pay that.
  2. 21 Gladiator Rubicon 1st Gear Whine from Launch

I found the thread. It was said in a thread I posted last year. Read #7. https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/squishy-fluid-sound.103481/post-1657331
  3. Cheap Gas Kills Your Engine

I didn’t hear about that in this video but The Motor oil geek guy covers most things concerning oil, primarily but you’d have to do a search on his channel to see if he covers that item.
  4. Modifying Rubicon hood vents to actually work.

Putting out the Bat Light for @StanH to give his feed back
  5. 21 Gladiator Rubicon 1st Gear Whine from Launch

That’s not a transmission whine. That noise posted is audible ā€œzingā€ and snaps through a very specific spot in the RPM. A transmission whine is a much higher, cleaner pitch and will carry through a lot longer through the RPM band. I’ve had that noise constantly in my 21 JTR and also in my 23...
  6. Cheap Gas Kills Your Engine

Finally a video that explains octane and ethanol in a way that makes sense (to me). They’ve also include an explanation of sulphur in diesel for the diesel owner. They also discuss…’but my engine is engineered for 87’..
  7. Transmission oil change with PPE aluminum oil pan

The only concern I’d have is that with air supplied by compressor, that air will have moisture as well. I went with this 7.5L hand pump unit and can put all 5.5 L in one go. Also see: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/ppe-transmission-pan.101235/post-1735159 Pan drop...
  8. Help identifying what this is

Pull it out. The truck doesn’t need anything plugged in there constantly to function
  9. do these trucks break down a lot?

Depends on who you ask. My 21 JTR had lots of issues. 2 engines, 4 transmissions, 4 power steering pumps, leaky back window all within the first 70k kms. After that, it ran pretty good. I earned the most unlucky guy around award for good reasons. It was the last jeep I’d ever own too, I told...
  10. do these trucks break down a lot?

A good scan tool is priceless when it can tell you what’s going on. I’ve had cheap ones in the past… You may have heard the saying, ā€˜you’re too poor to buy cheap’. Buy once, cry once. JSCAN is one that’s discussed here that can run live data. I have the MUCAR CDE900 pro (Android) that runs all...
  11. do these trucks break down a lot?

@Dilly’S Willy We don’t have a MAF sensor. That sensor we think is the MAF is a temp sensor. I’ve also experienced the ā€œstumbleā€ or a micro second bump or stall in acceleration at around 20-30 and I’ll throw my guess as it’s the gas or octane used. I’ve thrown in some methanol hydrate to remove...
  12. Power Steering Fluid Level

I’d say it wasn’t burped right to begin with. I experienced air lock in my ā€œseveralā€ ps pumps in my 21. I’ve mentioned it a few times a while back.
  13. Whining engine noise?

Really need to hear it to provide a better answer than best guess. A whine while on the highway, I’ve had that. Was transmission. By you saying whine on the highway could also be a ā€œmoanā€, perhaps a diff. A high pitch whine, transmission. That’s my best guess without hearing it.
  14. Replacing plugs and injectors

I’ve only removed the upper plenum once. I don’t even feel qualified to even comment but, I did not replace the upper seals and some months later looking around in the engine bay, I did notice oil seepage around the upper plenum edge and wished I had replaced the seals but maybe all I needed to...
  15. 2020 Gladiator rear window leak (so far i suspected the actual small opening window, but actually it is entire top of the window)

My 21 leaked from the top somewhere and would pool and drip down. The 7mm vacuum line fixed it and never worked its way out. Set the tube in place with a small piece of 1ā€ pvc pipe and spray liberally with water/alcohol and don’t stretch the tube when setting in. The small pipe will press the...
  16. Leaking Falcon SP2 3.3 shocks

That’s odd. You can’t buy these directly from TeraFlex, right? At least I didn’t. You shouldn’t have to go direct for warranty if you had to go through an independent distributor. I’ll reach out to the shop tomorrow where I bought these and find out how I would initiate a warranty claim and let...
  17. Leaking Falcon SP2 3.3 shocks

I installed my 3.3’s in January and so far so good. What is their warranty and let us know how it goes!
  18. Gladiatorisms ……. Bizarre, weird things…Normal or….?

This winter I was having a text conversation from the truck with a member here and truck was idling. Cell phone was not plugged into the dash and was connected via Bluetooth. I had the heater fan on and was doing some other paper work and when a text would come in, the automated voice would...
  19. Gladiatorisms ……. Bizarre, weird things…Normal or….?

I have this happen with my 23 all the time when I get out while engine running and I shut the door. ….dont shut the door, but this doesn’t mean it has to be wide open either. Close it but just have the door resting shut and the horn won’t go off. Thanks to @StanH for this trick!
