Been doing some online research, and I think I can answer my own question. All the major manufacturers use an oil-free design, so they can all be stored horizontally. However, a hot compressor on its side may have condensation problems, so let it cool first.
Dumb question... Can I store a typical 12v compressor (Viair/Morrflate/Smittybilt/etc) on its side, or will that cause an issue with the lubrication system? I am probably going to pull the trigger on a compressor soon, and the best place for it would be in my Goose Gear, but it's not tall enough...
I-84 to I-87 to Albany, not up to I-91. Massachusetts doesn't do reciprocal carry. Besides, it's VERMONT... what are you trying to defend yourself against? If you see a bear, just wave your arms and say "hey bear" and it will run away. If you see Ben & Jerry, don't make eye contact, curl up and...
Here in Boston, the city hangs flags on the main streets in a lot of neighborhoods in the spring, but time and weather take a toll, and a lot of them are looking rough by the end of summer. Anyway, on the way home from getting groceries today, I noticed that the top ferrule had failed on one of...
You had me excited for a minute. I was really hoping for a model that would hold the brakes as long as the car in front of me is stopped, then accelerate again up to the set speed.
I have a JTR with factory ACC, and I can confirm that it will beep and release the brakes after sitting stopped...
I wish the Mighty FC would go into production. An offroad ready cabover would rule for visibility and cargo capacity.
Before he moved over to The Autopian, David Tracy did a cool series on Jalopnik about his attempt to fix up a '58 FC enough to wheel it and maybe try an EV conversion...
I gave up and bought a set of Yakima mounts for the traction boards. A little expensive, but I was tired of trying to rig something up that would fit off brand traction boards to an off brand rack.
This is my third season camping with the Husky totes, and they're holding up well. I noticed that they changed the gasket material this year, but I have a couple of the new ones that are working out so far. I can't really speak to dust, but the waterproofing gets a big thumbs up from me. They...
I feel like I have my camping loadout pretty dialed in. It is weather-tight on the road, I can still see out the back glass, the back seat area stays clear for the dog, and we never feel like we're roughing it. I have a version of this loadout for solo camping also, which ends up with the...
We found where the original builder and owner had signed one of the studs, so we put their names back up, along with ours and the contractor, before closing up the walls. Also some hex marks over the doors and windows to keep the witches out... this is New England, can't be too careful.

What's a $148 hoodie among friends? Seriously though, I'm putting a jeep/whale sticker on my JT if I can find one... for reasons.
So apparently Vineyard Vines is releasing a bunch of Jeep branded $45 t-shirts and $128 hoodies. As part of the partnership, they have a sweepstakes where you can win a VV branded JTR.
All that to say that as the rotten whalemeat guy on this forum, I NEED them to put this design on a sticker...
Yeah, I treated my last couple of trucks (a first gen Taco and a K5 Blazer before that) way too precious and missed out on a lot of fun. When I got the JT, I told myself that I wasn't going to cry over minor pinstripes. The problem with Peddlers Glory is the gaps between tree trunks, which will...
