If your batteries are reinstalled, you can disconnect the N3 wire from the high amp fuse bus and check voltage on the N3 terminal. If the fuse is not blown, it will be connected through the high amp bus to your main battery positive (N2), so you should read main battery voltage (if you have...
I'd imagine just doing a roundover on the edges/corners would avoid "insertion" damage to your bedrug and making it a very snug fit would limit rubbing/chafing while driving. I don't think plastic-wood-on-plastic-carpet would be very problematic in general.
You may want to join the two stacked...
Plenty of things wrong with all sorts of vehicles that folks don't find out about until after they drive it home, at least this one won't limit your use of the vehicle you're waiting for the replacement part. Your top isn't gonna fly off the truck or anything... you could take all the bolts off...

Edit: They still have the 79" and 99" Walls available... might be able to adapt to another brand awning if they have the c-channels on the front and back extrusions.

This could catch those stray fries and act as an aux fry storage bin.. you can root around in there for rations in a survival situation.
I haven't run into this issue (yet?), but I have felt like the Gladiator doesn't have a well designed filler receptacle. The nozzle doesn't go in far enough and never feels very secure to just leave it unattended.
Not related exactly, but kind of a funny story... I was filling my JL a few...
Awning tent could work for you...
The photo makes it look like the awning is overhanging at the back of the truck, but it's not.. Anyhoo, it's a pretty low profile setup (less than 4" above the cab height).
I have some Hella halogen fogs for the bumper hoop to have something that won't collect snow. I've been looking to replace those with two motorcycle headlight housings that could be post mounted like an aux light. In Oregon you can have four forward facing headlights, so I could in theory have...
I don't mean to throw shade on your product, but... why isn't it a complete tailgate board (ubox/dee zee makes these, obviously without the L-track)? It seems like you'd have a much more functional tailgate surface/tailgate protector if it weren't just replacing the access panels... One could...
The droopy part is the inner tent roof, which is like.. an enclosed bubble being held onto the awning frame with clips along the edges. There are no inner loops or hooks to connect anything to. It's a cool design in that rain/bugs can't get in from between the side walls and the awning, but...
I've looked at that and I keep thinking the 150amp fuse must be there for a reason... since your entire system electronics are effectively routed through that N3 fuse to N1, I feel like running unfused straight to the main battery could be bad.
Edit: I guess I keep thinking in terms of...
Sure, these things won't happen 100% of the time... but they can and do happen. Keep in mind that the Mopar batteries are generally regarded as junk. Swapping them out to something maybe higher quality might reduce the chances of catastrophic failure. Either way, I think it's safe to say that...
I guess my point is that leaving the aux battery in place can be more problematic, ESS or not... Whereas the odds are much greater that a weak main battery and no aux will more often than not just cause an "ESS unavailable" state.
I'd much rather have a weak battery that I can jump start, turn...
I'm wondering why anyone would actually want to replace their aux battery? What purpose does it serve beyond causing problems? You can't tell if one of the two batteries has gone bad without disconnecting them, and if one dies prematurely, it will tank the other one shortly afterwards... and a...
Back when I added a hard top to my JL I don't think there were no-name knockoffs, but I'm sure they're fine. I used this set from DV8:
