If I want to run my viair 450 I’ll need be able to handle 23 amps which means I’ll need to run 8 gauge if I ground to nearby frame—but if I run back to battery I’ll need to Use 6 awg or possibly 4 awg for the round trip to account for V drop.
does this work? Do you recommend frame ground back...
I have the Falcon Nexus EF 2.1 and its great. Drives nicely. Its a few bucks less than than the 2.2 adjustable but many jeepers greater than I had feelings the adjustable wasn't necessary and the 2.1 is set to what you'd run 99% of the time anyway. Easy install.
Awesome! If I were to 'have it my way', I'd love an under the back seat mount. I feel like that is the safest bet--although not best for those using air lockers as it will be loud. Looks like you need a bed mount, too! :)
Lots of discussion and options with ARB Compressor mounts--not a lot for VIAIR.
I have a Viair 450P-RV I picked up. While its not crazy fast, its known to be highly reliable and a workhorse. I like it because it has 100% duty cycle and they have some RV winterization kits. I just don't know...
I am considering using the propex heater in the the bed of the truck which will run heat to the tent. Similar concept but uses propane and will be hard wired.
Did you resolve this. ? I just ordered a set. Has diode dynamics provided any support ? I don’t want to spend $500+ for lights that shut off on their own
I’m looking for recommendations on a light to be used in low visibility conditions. Snowing specifically.
1. Amber or amber covers must be available
2. Bright enough they can be used alone without headlights as an option
3. Mounting options low. I’ll likely use my winch grill guard or...
There’s a place on the drivers side firewall you may be able to use. There’s a black plug there, pop it out snd see if there’s enough space. I ran my coax cable through that for a gmrs antenna, along the side of the floorboard under the plastic panels to under my seat where the radio is.
In the meantime you can use the rears that are likely Abundant. I’m sure someone here on this forum may have the factory rear sway bar links sitting in their garage . Can they still be used up front or is that only a thing for the JKs?
Yes. So I usually connect via 12v to my RV batteries and it gets to 30 degrees FAST. Same with the 115v in the Jeep. It’s just when I connect it directly to the battery. I thought maybe a ground issue but now I’ve routed it directly to the negative terminal as well. I ran the wires from battery...
even when battery protect is on low I can’t get to the temps below 40 that I need. Works fine plugged into my 115 inverter and on my RV 12v. I’m probably running about 15’ of 14g to the bed outlet. Tomorrow I’ll put a multimeter on the batter to ensure it matches what the system says.
Worst...
Fine, I’ll rerun some 10ga.
I kinda figured but was hoping that wasn’t the answer. I should have just busted out my volt meter prior to bothering you all ?
my fridge won’t stay cold when hooked direct to battery, but works when I connect to a real 12v system off the Jeep. I’ve tried it direct to battery and also off the 15a and 40a aux switch. I’m using 14 ga cable so that shouldn’t be an issue either.
On Jeep, My CFX is showing about .5 to 1 volt...
