Definitely not the case. The wifeās 2020 JLU had the all too common visor drop. Didnāt replace it, just used these:
BoomBa 4 PCS Steel Sun Visor Clips for Jeep 2018 and Newer JK, JL, JT Gladiator and Wrangler https://a.co/d/fDDjsXn
I went with those because itās a pair for hers and a pair for...
Snapped a few more to hopefully show how little poke there is.
Tried to center the edge of the fender flare in the frame to give it an accurate representation.
Tapping into cigar lighter will illuminate the halos whenever in ACC or RUN positions.
However, they will not light during a remote start.
I ran into that and tapped the heated steering wheel fuse (F60 if I remember) and now they light during remote start as well.
There is another option for about the same or less than the Sunrider. You could get the Rugged Ridge Voyager soft top. Discussion thread here:

Long story short, the front folds back like a Sunrider and...
Took a road trip from Ohio to Tenn with it on. Around 60-70 it was fine, same noise as any soft top Iāve ever had on a Jeep.
However, around 80-85 mph, there was a very loud, deep toned wind flutter from it that made conversation with the wife in the passenger seat difficult.
We did drive thru...
This is my line of thought. No need to go through all the trouble of measuring, cutting, welding, whatever else when it would just be easier to rig a type of kill switch.
Many years ago when I lived in a less than desirable neighborhood, I had a GMC vehicle that I would simply pop the hood and...
A member of my Jeep group here in Ohio makes them. I told her the font I wanted and the colors. I can link you to her Facebook profile if interested.
My old Jeep was done by Vinyl Decal and Graphic Design of E Tenn (https://vinyldecalgraphicdesignofeasttn.com/). They did a great job, I just...
My thought on it is that if the aluminum box wasnāt an issue, Jeep wouldnāt pay dealers to replace them for customers free of charge. That should tell you something right there.
Congratulations and welcome!!
Couldnāt agree with this more!
Enjoy it stock for a bit, then do some mods as YOU see fit. Donāt go crazy throwing parts on it just because, build it for your style and the way you will drive it. The best part of owning a Jeep is making it uniquely yours.
Off the top of my head, I think it was the ā12 and some ā13 JKs that had an issue with the heads (AA and AB parts?) having sand in them that was clogging up heater cores and radiators. My guess is the OP had read about that somewhere and thought maybe it was still an issue.
Performance really hasnāt taken any noticeable hit so to speak. Once I reset tire size with Jscan, shift points were all good. The 8 speed auto really helps pick up the slack from not regearing.
As for wheel poke, thereās not much at all. Keep in mind my wheels are 18x9 with only +12 offset so...
I have the Falkens in 295/70R18 on mine. Granted I have aftermarket wheels, but it wouldnt be much different.
First pic is without level kit.
Second pic is with 1.5ā Teraflex level.
As you can see in the first pic, they fit and clear easily, tho thereās not a lot of room for articulation on...
Thanks!
First and last pic are just factory for the 80th Anniversary Edition.
Second and third pics are:
Vision Se7en Wheels (18x9 +12 spacing)
Falken Wildpeak AT3W (295/70R18)
The Wildpeaks in that size are a 34x11.5, however they are just a touch taller than the 315/70R17 on my daughters JKU...
Out of curiosity, have you replaced your headlight bulbs with aftermarket LEDs?
This sounds very similar to when the built in fan on many of those bulbs starts to go bad or gets āstickyā due to cold weather. Just a guess.
