I like using the term because it occasionally sets off crotchety old geezers who can't handle the fact that language is an ever evolving part of our lives. ;-)
Indeed, but these modern trucks go a bit beyond the basics. These were pretty much the only options on every other vehicle I have owned. ESS changes that a bit. I see what you are saying and it is certainly something to watch out for, but I don't believe it will be an issue. The truck seems...
As far as I can tell in my limited testing, you MUST clutch to restart the engine in this scenario. Thus there shouldn't be any unexpected lurch forward. I WOULD however be wary of using this on a steep hill. Of course, if you are super concerned, you could also just keep your foot on the...
Then you lose the benefits to ESS and you have to hold either the clutch or the brake when on a hill. I'm not out to defeat ESS. If I wanted to do that, I would indeed simply push the off button. As I said, I don't find it annoying or intrusive at all, though I can see how it might be...
I know a lot of people find the ESS annoying. It hasn't bothered me at all so far, so I have been playing around with it. I haven't seen this posted anywhere else, but I found you can wait until ESS stops the engine, then slide the shifter into first(no clutch). No feet on the pedals, it...
Well, you are "Slojo" haha. I didn't spend much time in the automatics I test drove, but I never even noticed it. On my manual it seems to work great. If I know I am going to be taking off quickly, I just keep it in first. At a red light or in a drive thru it turns on quickly enough that I...
Picked up my JTR from Gupton on Saturday and drove it 1000+ miles home to MA over the last few days. Here are some of my initial thoughts:
Coming from my lifted TJ, this thing rides really nice!
The shifter took me a little getting used to with having reverse on the left. I accidentally...
When I lived in Goodyear I would often go out to Buckeye to shoot and collect brass. There are some areas out there that were just absolutely trashed. It is good to see some cleanup happening.
It's normal for the prices to go up after ordering, but that shouldn't matter at all in your case. If you have a signed out the door price agreement, they should stand by that.
I am in no way familiar with Canadian laws, but I would think they are in breach of contract if they fail to honor...
I really like the diesel(despite its current bottoming out and other issues), and the automatic feels really nice...for an automatic. For me, even though it is a great automatic, I just hate driving automatics, so I went for a gasser.
As for gearing, I wouldn't get either of those just for...
Okay, seems like a pretty simple problem to have. Do you want the one you found now despite not being EXACTLY what you want, or is it worth the wait to get EXACTLY what you want?
I am pretty sure Daniel is just going off of the same information that Jeep chat is. Definitely take that with a grain of salt. It's more of a "tentative" ship date from my understanding.
I work in a small shop, so I need to project leave ahead of time, and that is when I guesstimated would be a good time to schedule the vacation for the pickup. I'd imagine I could have gotten it within a couple days of delivery. They DO want you to schedule when you are coming in though. It...
Okay, for those interested, ordered a Rubicon with most options you can get with a 6-speed on September 14th, Arrived at Gupton on 1 November. I plan on picking up on 13 November. That seems like a pretty reasonable factory build/delivery time. Hopefully things stay that way.
Okay, this MAY be an unpopular opinion, but I feel that minivans are boring, high-utility, super-convenient, super-comfortable vehicles that do those things better than pretty much anything else. Modern SUVs like the Grand Cherokee are just slightly less boring minivans that don't do the other...
Different strokes for different folks. I had the base non-adjustable cloth seats in my TJ and found them oddly some of the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in. Drove it from Phoenix to Massachusetts in comfort. I would be shocked if anyone else found them comfortable though.
