Does the full-time share its "thinking" with the transmission? The part-time case is just a simple brainless gearbox. But the full-time needs to know when to distribute torque and where. I'm assuming this is why it isn't available with manual transmissions.
That's good to know. I'm currently torn between the Klevers and the 255/85 Baja Boss. I like the tread and price a bit better on the Klevers, but the warranty and size better on the Baja boss.
Awesome! I found the JT transmission and clutch feel to be far superior. Whatever you do, don't judge it too harshly until you get some better gears and a throttle controller. The 3.73 gears were definitely a mistake on Jeeps part. They should have just put 4.10s in everything. People...
Yeah, I've heard a lot of RC detractors, but I had a 4.5" RC lift on my TJ for over 10 years and never had any issues. It worked great on all the Arizona and Colorado trails I went on when I lived out there. I'm not tied to it or any other brand though. If something has legitimate reasons for...
Anyone know of a good thread on here comparing different brand's lifts? I tried digging through the search, but its a bit too much. I had a Rough Country lift on my TJ and really liked it, but I'd be interested to see comparisons.
Ok Mr. Dan. I had a chance to play with the high beams on my way to work today. If the headlights are in "Auto" and you try to put on the high beams by pushing the lever away from you, it simply deactivates them as you said. The first work around I found is you can hold them on by holding the...
As long as they aren't putting them on 24" wheels, why not. I die a little inside every time I see a lifted vehicle with huge rims and low profile tires. That's like adding a performance tuner set for premium then always filling up with regular.
Not sure I can be helpful here. They are always on when I want them on and always off when I want them off, so I haven't even tried to manually activate them. Are you saying there were times that you wanted them on, but they shut themselves off in auto and you couldn't manually activate them...
My first Gladiator order, which I cancelled, didn't have the ACC group, but I rethought it because my insurance gave a discount for the forward collision warning. Turns out, I love the ACC and the automatic high beam features, both of which I thought I would be indifferent towards.
As always, excellent points sir. When I want to slow down going down hill, I push in the clutch and downshift, lol. While I drive a wide variety of automatic vehicles at work, I haven't owned one in quite some years.
I think the term "overdrive" has probably been confusing people about what...
I think it would be less useful if I could get auto-start, but for those of us who like to do our own shifting, it isn't an option. I've made do without a heated steering wheel my whole life, and now that I have experienced it, I'm ruined and can't go back to gripping a cold wheel in the...
Allow me to help here. Overdrive off is mostly for towing. When towing you don't want your automatic transmission going into the top gear(s) because then you have trouble on hills or sometimes easy flats. You also lose some engine braking when going downhill by being in overdrive.
Overdrive...
Hopefully I don't get flamed too hard for saying this, but as much as I love the Gladiator, and I am sure you would be fine in this endeavor, I think I would go with more truck. I guess despite all the evidence to the contrary, I just don't see it as a good towing rig.
Sounds like you absolutely saved yourself. That's all some excellent advice. Only thing I would add is take aspirin if you can after calling 911.
When I was on active duty, a senior NCO in my squadron was doing a PT test. After passing it, he sat in his truck alone, had a heart attack, and...
