Around here ethanol free fuel is about impossible to find. Only one brand station has it and the closest one is about 30 miles away.
I tried a tank in my JLU. It didn't really notice a difference in how it ran but did notice a 1.5-2 mpg increase.
I didn't bother crunching the mpg versus cost...
I ran 87 octane in my 2019 JLU and now my JT. They both ran fine and I never noticed any pinging, even in the summer when hauling my small travel trailer. Been driving since 1970 so yea, I know what to listen for.
I have tried 91 octane and did not notice any benefit. The only fuel I tried...
My front springs have no visible bow in them. I did not use any spacers.
A few more observations to maybe answer some questions folks may have.
I ordered the kit 04/18/21 from Amazon/Athens Dodge Chrysler Jeep for the $1250 price. I noticed sometimes the sellers and price change. It was as...
How do you like the Bestop seat covers? Does Bestop have the covers for the back seat available now? I've been trying to figure out what covers to get for my rig.
Nice looking truck.
My 08 JKU Wrangler fenders were very sun faded. I tried Mother's Back to Black on them and was very impressed by how well it worked. I'll use it on my Gladiator too.
This was a big controversy when the JL Wranglers first hit the street. Dealers were over filling the engine oil with 6 qts because that is what the 3.6L always took up until then.
On my JLU and now JT I pour in a 5 qt jug and call it good.
If I check the oil I'll do it in the morning before...
This is what I put on the end of my vent hose. In the old days we used them on the old bugs and called it a VW fuel filter. This one was called a universal fuel filter with 1/4, 5/16 fittings. Good friction fit on the end of the hose.
I took apart the original vent cap to see what was in it...
Nope! No regrets. The Ranger was a nice truck but I don't miss it.
I'm an old guy who likes things simple so my Gladiator is a Sport with the max tow package. Other options were hard top, aux switches, Sirius XM and slush mats. I went with the max tow for the wide HD axles with 4.10 gears...
So last year I traded a JLU Wrangler on a 2020 Ranger XLT FX4. I pretty quick put the Ford Performance leveling kit on it, running boards and spray in bedliner. Sweet truck. It was very quick, got decent mileage and fun to drive. Six months later I traded it for my Gladiator Sport max tow...
Sport with Max Tow package
-Mopar 2" lift kit with no spacers.
-Rubicon take-off 33" wheels and tires.
I ended up with 3.25" in the front and 2.6" in the rear. Still a slight rake which I'm ok with.
With the Sport fenders the 33" tires look fine.
Any front axle shift is really hard to see but...
That's going to be awesome. Tagged to follow.
A few years ago I had the same kind of crisis and had Robbie at Motech do an LS conversion on my 08 JKU. Fun times.
On my Wrangler and now my Gladiator I've been using the Mopar filter. I found 3-packs on Amazon for $17 and they are also available at Walmart. That said I would not have a problem using any name brand filter.
I didn't have any real problem getting the rear springs in. I glued the rubber isolator to the frame. There was no way I was going to hold it up there and then try to install the spring with just two hands.
I just had one floor jack on the center pumpkin so the axle would rock a little. I was...
Since getting my Sport a couple of months ago I've been agonizing on what to do with it. I do explore the NV desert so better tires and a mild lift were a requirement. I bought the max tow because of the wide HD axles with 4.10 gears, not because I needed the 7,650 tow rating. The most this...
