  1. 4th fuel pump in 6 weeks on a JK. Bad parts from MOPAR?

Well I just got the call. They said they cleared the code, checked all the sensors and everything seems fine. They put... $16 worth of gas in it...and said it didn't seem to do anything. So they asked me to come pick it up. I said no, why don't you keep it another day and have one of your...
  2. 4th fuel pump in 6 weeks on a JK. Bad parts from MOPAR?

I suggested that after the first pump replacement. They assured me it was the part itself. But I think you're right.
  3. 4th fuel pump in 6 weeks on a JK. Bad parts from MOPAR?

It's also been a pain because each time I drop it off they drain the tank....and then give it back to me on fumes....so I have to pray I make it to the closest gas station....and then watch it fail again. At first I assumed it was installed incorrectly. Then I thought it was the wrong part...
  4. 4th fuel pump in 6 weeks on a JK. Bad parts from MOPAR?

No, only issue was gas fumes in the garage. Once they installed the first replacement pump is when the gauge stopped working , and continues to fail after 3 pump installs. Today's #4 (finger's crossed, this is getting old.)
  5. 4th fuel pump in 6 weeks on a JK. Bad parts from MOPAR?

I keep assuming they're just installing the wrong fuel pump and that's why the gauge isn't going all the way to F. The jeep runs fine, no more fumes etc... but I'd like the fuel gauge to work
  6. 4th fuel pump in 6 weeks on a JK. Bad parts from MOPAR?

No the fumes issue was just the stock fuel pump housing had cracked. The first time they replaced the fuel pump the fumes went away. The NEW issue they introduced is the fuel gauge no longer going to F.....and now they're trying fuel pump # 4 to see if the gauge will work lol
  7. 4th fuel pump in 6 weeks on a JK. Bad parts from MOPAR?

My wife's 2014 JK started leaking gas fumes in the garage. I figured it was the fuel pump assembly (common issue) cracking near the top. Took it to the dealer cause it's winter and I didn't want to drop that tank. They agreed on the issue, couldn't get a mopar part but could get aftermarket...
  8. How in the hell are people ok with dents in their rigs?

I hear what you're saying. It used to bother me when I'd see someone driving a wrecked vehicle around, or they replaced a quarter panel with a different color and didn't paint it. But I did own a few "winter rats" that I bought just for the salty season. I tell you the only good outcome is...
  9. Engine #1 dead...Engine #2 dead...

Maybe a 392 would work better? LMAO
  10. Engine #1 dead...Engine #2 dead...

I don't blame you. I've been driving GM trucks my whole life. But my 2021 GMC truck had chunks of (summit white) paint falling off it after just 8 months. I took it back to the dealership and they denied the warranty claim, said it was "environmental factors." So I no longer own that...
  11. Engine #1 dead...Engine #2 dead...

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Unfortunately there's no such thing as a car brand that's all good or all bad. I used to have a side business selling cars and motorcycles. I've bought and sold over 157 vehicles....and I've seen some lemons from just about every brand I've come across. In...
  12. Prices collapsing on new (and used)

I dreamed of Jeep making another truck for decades. I even started a few projects to restore scramblers, a comanche, and almost tried to stuff a duramax in my M715 for street use. The Nukizer concept was PERFECT to me. But when the Gladiator finally came out , I was outraged at the prices...
  13. Getting Rear Ended - 3 Times

    I blame cell phones
  14. Vevor 13.5k winch

I try to buy local or American when I can. But honestly....I had a WARN M8000 winch fail on me, and I've had various el cheapo harbor freight/ebay winches that worked the few times I needed them to. I feel like especially post covid, nothing is built like it used to be. (now I really sound...
  15. Re-gear High Altitude vs. trade for a Mojave

    Thank you, corrected it.
  16. Thinking about switching to the Power Wegon

That's important, many people don't consider that. I have a 30x50 pole barn so I have always thought anything will fit. But then we bought a lifted Winnebago Revel 4x4 camper van....my barn has 10 foot walls with 9 foot bay doors (van is over 10' tall) so our most expensive vehicle sits...
  17. Re-gear High Altitude vs. trade for a Mojave

Depends on what you're after. Keeping the truck you know can make sense. Just remember after spending $3k+ on a re-gear your Altitude still books for the same value. Trading for the Mojave might give you better resale in the future, plus you get tougher frame, gearing, locker and a non...
  18. Thinking about switching to the Power Wegon

That sounds like a perfect solution.
  19. Thinking about switching to the Power Wegon

    Easy......own both. :)
  20. 2 Engines, each with 500k miles. Difference? The oil: one synthetic, one conventional

True, and for modern engineered vehicles perhaps that's fine. But working on older harleys for example, if you have metal shavings on the magnetic drain plug....changing your oil more often is important. I don't believe that the synthetics are magical like their commercials where they...
