I just ordered an RLD. They have some inbound that they expect to have on hand in 30 days. That's what they told me anyways ...
I bought the Mopar trail rail system off eBay for ~$310, IIRC.
I was just trying to prove a point.
I think it's funny that people buy the diesel because the pentastar is a dog. Hello, the diesel is slower than the pentastar.
Oil pressure wouldn't change unless it was severely overfilled (or under). The pump flows what it is commanded to, so if it is getting normal (not aerated) oil the pressure won't change.
I think you are right there is probably a good margin for error.
For most people it overcomes their years of training not to be aggressive on the throttle. I don't need that.
I do agree the gadget can go from 0 to 100% quicker than I can, but the difference is so minor. It takes maybe 0.1 - 0.2 seconds to hit full throttle. It's an automatic so it just stays...
The pedal is a potentiometer. That's it. Any intelligence is in the ECM and you aren't bypassing that.
All you are doing is making the throw shorter. I don't need that. I can see why some people do.
The gadget doesn't change anything in the ECM. It's just changing the voltage the ECM sees. I can do that with my foot.
If it could really do something you can't it would be seen on time slips.
I'd have to see some data. My understanding is that essentially they just add a delta to what you are asking the throttle to do. So if you are asking for 50% they bump to say 75%. Once you are asking for 100% it can't add anything.
I can reach 100% throttle pretty quick. ;)
The pentastar does everything the diesel does and more. On a fuel and basic maintenance cost calculation it's going to take a while for the diesel to come out ahead.
Normally I would say it isn't worth it, but if they give you a really good trade in offer maybe.
I know back in the day the local Jeep dealer would let you take the new one home so you could swap stuff like bumpers and wheels and what not. Might be worth asking if they will let you do that.
My track cars see over 270F every session. I'd go broke changing the oil after every time they got above that. Never had a problem changing once per year and checking the level.
