  1. Diesel is the best engine option.

Pentastar makes ~90% of peak torque from 1800 rpm to 6000 rpm. I don't have the chart in front of me but it's very flat. It's lower torque relative to the diesel, but it's actually a nice curve. I don't think anyone is upset, but there are a lot of valid reasons why someone didn't think the...
  2. Has anyone installed the exhaust loop eliminator?

In my opinion it's done so that the exhaust pulses from opposite banks don't meet at the same time where they merge into one pipe. You could definitely delete it with a dual exhaust, but should keep it if not.
  3. Diesel is the best engine option.

They seem to be ok unless you work them hard. Once you get out of warranty some of the repairs can be very expensive. Injector failure is not uncommon on any diesel. To me it wasn't worth it.
  4. Searchiong for a canopy-Smart CAP vs ALU-CAP vs RLD vs ARE

Got a call from Tom today, it's shipping this week.
  5. QuickJack 7000 Costco sale time

You could probably get away with using the 5k on a lightly modded JT. I've seen videos where they test it with a sheetload more weight than they rate it for. I finally got my 5000SLX after 5+ months of waiting during the supply chain armageddon. Be prepared for a wait.
  6. What are you working on?

This is a father/son project with my kid. Swapping out the original 4.3 V6 to a new 5.3 GenIII V8. Someday it will be his when he shows me he's responsible enough to drive it without hurting himself.
  7. Jeep Wave for the first oil change?

When it says it's time to change it, I'll use my free oil change. If Jeep is ok with that, I don't see the need to do anything special.
  8. Hard time finding my favorite oil

It's a truck, it doesn't need super duper oil. It'll do 200k easily with any oil that meets the spec and is changed per the manual.
  9. language

I'd say it's normal American English lexicon.
  10. RSI Smart cap arriving tomorrow.

Mine just cleared customs I think. Do you have the trail rails? I have them but not installed yet.
  11. Temptations in a crazy market.

Priora. Sad that I know that.
  12. Temptations in a crazy market.

The problem with trying to time any market is that even if you are ultimately right, the market can keep being wrong for a long time. I wouldn't sell unless the money was going to change my life or the vehicle was being a problem.
  13. Gas mileage is concerning..

Adaptive cruise feels like it uses the brakes to me, either way it's not optimal for MPG.
  14. Gas mileage is concerning..

It's horrible anywhere with hills, like my area. It uses the brakes going downhill and feels like it uses 100% throttle uphill. It doesn't bother me enough to turn it off but I am sure I could do better myself.
  15. Buying a car for a family member when they get old enough to drive

I bought my first vehicle, but it was from my grandfather so way under what it actually cost. 1971 Ford Bronco Sport, loved it. One of my sons will get a handmedown vehicle, 2001 Lexus LX470. I'm building this with my other son. I gave kid #1 the same option but he opted for the LX.
  16. What's your best/lamest excuse?

I just tell her I'm going for a drive.
  17. Who else is happy with the Pentastar?

It actually has a lot more, in some cases nearly double of what those engines made from the factory.
  18. If you could do it over - What would you change?

I'd get the Mojave instead of the Rubicon if I did it over. My wife stole the Rubicon from me, so I might actually get a do-over in January.
  19. Please Introduce 392 Hemi Gladiator

Not everyone cares about mpg, but I bet it would be more like 14-15 than 10. I'd prefer not to have all that complexity of hybrid or modern diesel. Good ol' pushrod V8 is fine with me. I'd be happy with any V8. I'd probably get the 5.7 if it was an option.
