IMO If you are going to make a gear change, it's really not worth it to step up one ratio(3.73 to 4.10 or 4.10 to 4.56). You'll need to jump 2 ratios to really feel a difference, and even then, it'll be a subtle change.
IMO I wouldn't spend a lot of time worrying about a 31.5 to a 33, Yes it...
I would agree with that, kind of like shopping at Harbor Freight, if you know what to look for and how to spot quality, you can come out ahead. I've got HF tools 20+ years old and I've got some that don't make it through the first project.
I will say, after having installed kits for years, that...
Got most my exterior mods done. 37” bfg km3s (actually about 35.75) with a 1.5” spacer kit. This configuration doesn’t rub driving on the road, and fits I’m my garage. I have a 3.5” kit also that I’ll probably put on, but I really like being able to fit in my garage.
Going to upgrade the lights...
I would look more at the components in the kit than the brand itself. Nobody is making a kit that is going to have a coil spring break in half, and I really doubt you'll find one spacer is better than another, it's the parts that surround the kit that make the difference.
Is a $3500 metalcloak...
37" BFG MK3s (a smaller 37) with no lift on a sport s. Little bit of rub on the RR Full Width bumper, probably none on a stubby setup but I like the full width. Have a leveling kit supposed to be delivered today and I'll probably trim the bumper for a bit more clearance.
I've always had my best experiences at DiscountTire, have a set of 37's sitting in the garage form them I'm waiting to install. Worked with me to find anything in stock that would work given the market and extended a couple discounts and rebates that I came out pretty good on theprice.
27K isn't great, for for a M/T and one of the cheapest MTs on the market, I'd be satisfied with that.
Can't help you on the winter side, when we get 3" of ice down the whole State of GA goes MaxMax....lol
Considering a lot of 1/2 tons are pushing 12-13k, I would agree that just counting lugs is a poor way to decide, but the rental company has to make it easy enough for any of their associates to make a quick decision.
That being said, it’d be way too easy to overload a dump trailer of that size...
Thanks, I measured my clearance on the 37's and factory suspension, 2-3/8", so I absolutely can't go any higher than that.
Thanks! That's good to know, I've got a $25 quadratec GC after buying my tazer, and they have the 1.5" daystar "kit" for $90, might be worthwhile to get that kit just to...
Thanks! That looks good. I've heard the Rubicon lift adds more than 2", if it was more than 2" It wouldn't fit anymore. My house is an older built home, garage door is only 6'7". I measured with the 37's on and factory suspension and literally 2.5" of room to spare.
I do like the look of the...
Thanks, That was my original plan, but the wheels I ordered had a bit more backspacing than I was anticipating (about 5.5" BS). I think I would be more comfortable with a 3.5" kit if I added some 1-1.5" spacer, but I'm weary about that.
Macks Toe 4.10s now, but would go 4.88's or there-about in...
I've got a 3.5" lift sitting in the garage that I haven't had time to install yet. I put my 37" BFG KM3s on today over my lunch break to check for clearance with my suspension components/wheel backspacing and it looks awesome! I'm getting some rub on my bumper.
Opinions wanted: Off the pictures...
I just got a set of KM3s about 3 weeks ago, after jumping 3-4 different tires before finding something in stock.
Unfortunately that's just the nature of the market right now, look at another brand if you aren't loyal to the coopers.
Thanks, Mine slides pretty easy using a small pick/screw driver, I just hate the idea of doing that every time and eventually tearing up/chipping the plastic away. Wish I could come up with a way to easily pull the thing down whenever I take my doors off. Maybe something sticky on the eraser end...
