Yep. I went to do that the other morning but it’s not easily accessible. It sits below a ton of hoses, wires, and plastic parts…
I would love to see it, but I don’t have a shop manual for tearing down the front of the ecodiesel.
Anybody have any tips?
Looks like a cheap throttle mapper. I wouldn’t bother.
If you really want a pedal commander I pulled mine, my fuel pump may go at any time so I pulled my Tazer JL as well.
I’d sell them.
Honestly, I have babied mine... Primed 10-15 times when I changed the filters, ran LX4 (which is even better than EDT), etc.
I pulled my fuel filter last time at 34k miles and there were very small metal flakes in the fuel at the bottom of the fuel filter assembly.
I was thinking to myself I...
Basically, drive it till you get stranded. That’s the Jeep way…
Trade in value is garbage, the ecodiesel values tanked….
I love my jeep, but this situation is awful…..
Lol do you want mine? :-P
I did have a conversation with JeepCares privately. They did indicate that parts are not yet available, and they will notify me when they become available...
They also said something interesting that I do not understand, I asked for clarification and haven't gotten...
Nothing as far as I’m aware. I’m digging daily as I have metal showing up in my fuel filter and am expecting a boom moment anyday….
The vehicle has lost about 50% of its value per the only dealer that had an offer for me.
I would avoid investing in a diesel….
If you want a jeep with torque…...
The CPX option is interesting.
It’s my understanding that not all failures are caused by a turning lobe though, so pinning will likely solve that issue, but the metal compounds of the rollers also an issue is my understanding. If any debris / buildup occurs that stops the motion of the roller...
Totally fair.
I did cut the filter open (a few days ago, it’s now in the trash), there was no way an ounce, it looked like I had sprinkled glitter on it, but no way an ounce.
Yeah the ethical side of this is awful….
I think I’m going to just stay the course and keep it…
Knowing it will likely strand me in rush hour, or on a ski trip, or taking my pregnant wife to the hospital sucks…..
I really hope they sort this out asap….
I am going to drive it for another 1000 miles (if it lets me lol) then pull the fuel filter again and check for more metal.
I may also pull the volume control valve and check.
The main thing I’ve learned is unless it’s dead don’t expect them to do anything (even if they could) and they can’t….
34k miles now, it’s been changed 2 times. Last time there was no metal….
I have gone to two dealers, both told me that they won’t trade it in, because they can’t sell them currently….
The service department at both has told me that yes they suspect cp4 failure in progress.
They also told me...
(Yes I know the plastic is broke) I installed a new cap because the last dealership that changed the filter over tightened it…. And I stripped it removing it….
Metal found in the fuel filter assembly…
33.5k miles
EDT or LX4 every tank 2-4oz since 2k miles….
Should I just get rid of the vehicle? I do rely on it……
