Thanks @ShadowsPapa The JT goes to the shop next week to have some new parts installed and I will have them look at it more closely. My mechanic said it could be improperly torqued bolts. It just started doing it, so either they have come loose, or it is something else.
@ShadowsPapa for the detailed response. On the control arms, they have fittings on one end, so was it ok to grease those?
I know this is a pretty open ended question, but how long should the bushings last on most parts?
Did I potentially damage the other bushings by spraying silicone spray...
My JTM has developed some severe squeaking recently, mainly at the back. I have Fox 2.5 Elite shocks on the back, so it should not be the known issue with the OEM Mojave shocks. Last night I greased the joints that have Zirc fittings, but what do I do with the other joints where there is a...
I would do it now just to avoid another trip to the shop.
I started getting some DW so I had my shop check it and the end links were worn out. I already had a solid aluminum tie rod and drag link on order, so it will take care of the end link. While they are doing it I told them to go ahead...
I usually have bikes on the back of my truck and they block the taillights. I have a 1Up rack with the auxiliary light kit, but having a swing out means I have to unplug it when I want to swing the bikes to access the bed. So I wired up some auxiliary brake and turn lights on the canopy. It...
If I moved the shelving unit at the front of the garage, the jeep would fit. But I like the shelves more than I like parking in the garage. But yeah, pretty much. :jk::jk:
Go to Windrock. They have a mix of trails, green, blue, and black. You can find anything and everything there.
But be forewarned, after a visit you will want to dump $10k into your truck making it worthy.
I understand your point, but here are my other points:
I have a two car garage, half is filled with my wood shop and the other half with my wife’s JLR.
I live in a 1963 house and my truck fits vertically (barely), but not length wise.
I am lucky if I wash my truck every two months. Being...
I agree. I am a gun owner but still do not see the utility in their logo on my phone mount. The only thing that saves it is that it gets covered when my phone is mounted.
Well, I have had a 3” lift on it for about two years. I currently have the following parts on order (I think everything is now at the shop except the axle shafts):
RCV front axles shafts
Eaton e locker
Apex aluminum toe rod and drag link
Off road only sway loc
Tom Woolds front drove shaft...
The 37s were installed last week, so are hopefully balanced correctly and round. The thought did cross my mind to have them rebalanced. I had not thought about the wheels being bent, but hopefully the shop would have caught that.
I checked the truck today and there was no noticeable movement or noise in the wheel when trying to push and pull it. I tried with the wheel on the griund and jacked up. I will have my mechanic check it to confirm, but I guess my DW is coming from something else.
Thanks
How much movement should there be in a ball joint when assembled? I think it is time to replace mine. 46k miles. I have been running 35s for 20k miles and just went to 37s.
Who would spend more than five minutes trying to steal a RAV 4? We have one at work, it is a horrible car.
It is odd that the owner noticed damage over multiple days and did nothing.
I had mine installed yesterday. I need to adjust the pressure when I get home tonight, they set it to 40psi.
Does anyone have a pressure to suggest starting with? I ran 33 psi in my 35s. I will hopefully have time to do a chalk test this weekend, but need a starting point suggestion.
I do not have that weatherstripping either. I do have a piece on the inside of the door that goes past the tailgate (on the inside) when closed, so it is ineffective.
