I have the center front version(amazon) whatever you do, install one and look at how it attaches to the freedom top hold downs. (the part where the latches "hook" on to.) Mine was a serious pain the the azz to get lined up. I ended up using a long flathead to hold the hold downs in place...
true indeed. perfect example is snowblower shear pins using grade 5 bolts in a pinch.
i know they sell weaker stuff that the grade 8 pins there as well. A farm supply store is still very likely to have what he needs
AFE Vulcan. All stainless catback, quad tip dual exhaust.
I listened to every video I could find only sound profile I liked.
Yes if you go off road there’s a chance tips will get smushed. There’s no rocks to crawl near me and I don’t ever plan to do that…sooo I guess if it gets smushed in...
change oil at 500, 1500, 2500 and then do it every 3-5k miles beyond that. Your first several changes are free anyways. Early often changes will allow those break in miles to be on clean oil. change diffs and transfer case around 20k. Some will say its excessive. It is cheap insurance...
I have installed exhaust and intake. Beyond that i too have a random "chug" when stepping on the gas. Its mostly getting on the highway, i press the gas and the truck is like oh you need to go....ok lets go. I'm going off the idea that the ECU learns my driving habits, etc, resetting it in...
THANKS! I'll get into this tomorrow.
just to confirm, once i pop off all the cables...
wait like 5-10 mins and it will put the ecu back in learning mode so it will have to re adapt to things like exhaust and reset my "driving habits" that it has learned?
thanks,
I'm somewhat confused what you mean by IBS (intelligent battery system/sensor?).
i get taking the terminals off, where/ what is the ibs? ( I saw your pic of it in another post)
I guess what is primarily confusing me is i removed the connectors from the post on the main battery(lol...
would ECRI Do it ? I dont relish the idea of trying to get back into the gateway above the pedals again lol.
so take off both terminal clamps, separate the cables from each other, and remove the ground that is attached to the body? (im guessing its the one near the battery on the fender?)...
is that the right procedure i have listed ?
im guessing you mean the ground on the inside of the engine just near the battery? Or down low on the frame somewhere?
Read a few things online, neg cable wait 10, disconnect both wait 10, key to run press pedal slow wait at wot then release slow.
here is the thing,
Today i disconnected my battery, was going to wait 10 mins and then reconnect just to test that method. BOTH terminals disconnected truck still...
definitely living in georgia you dont see salt like I do in NY. My black truck is white most days december to feb. Driving on the interstate there will be a layer of salt so thick it looks like a scotchbrite pad.
Buffalo NY averages 40,000 TONS (80,000,000lbs) of salt per winter. They also...
was the K&N hard to put in? that looks incredibly hard to get in place. Given how difficult it is to put a flexible one like factory in...
The AFE carbon filter i put in was a pain in the Azz to put in.
Someone needs to slap the designers around a bit on this install.
