Thanks! Been a bit over a month since its all done and have over 6000 on the OD. Been on a few epic road trips to Idaho in -6 weather with snow all over and some rock crawling. Mostly for overland adventures. We love it. Had the 2020 JT in gas and loved it, put 20K miles on it in a year so I...
Well we ripped my 2021 JTRD to the frame almost for kevlar and the suspension and other than moving things around (washer fil, air box etc) the springs were a bit stiffer and the transfer case in a slightly different location, yes it was a bit heavier. We weighed it at all 4 corners at King for...
I will take more pics now that I am about done with the build of it. Last few items was the dual king shocks instead of the ranchos that came with it, and my goal zero 3000x finally got in and wired to the hot water system and ARB fridge freezer. Here was the model I got...
I would say for me and my experience, the diesel JT is right at home pulling any size trailer. WIth my current set up on my trailer, I dont even know its on. I am going to be pulling a trailer with gravel soon which I did with my gas JT last year, so I will report back once I do on the differences.
Exactly the reason. I had a winch cover as well and the fans came on almost right away. After some discussions with a diesel engine off road shop we started thinking of some better ways to get air flow. So far so good.
I went to a heat extraction hood and I can tell you the heat blows out the sides and tops of the vents a few weeks ago about 7K in the mountains with a 3k trailer. Temp was about 85 degrees. Will need to see when it gets above 95.
When we were weighing mine on all 4 corners for the shocks and springs the front stock was a touch over 400 lbs more than my gas JT. the rear was 8 lbs more which I take to the def tank.
Yeah this was during install and it final. I will take an updated pic. Ended up about an inch of preload. Like I said the king coils on my gas jt were not dialed in like these ones on my diesel and it drives so much better.
Adding here as I did coils on front . 400 -12” tops and 400 16” lowers on kings. King did mine at their shop so they’re dialed in front and rears. Rides way better then the non tuned to my 2020jt I had last year. Rides night and day over my gas jt. Sits about 5.5” inch lift.
Well I’m not sure who had said it but someone had mentioned it could take a couple of times filling it up for it to settle down and as I’m rounding 8000 miles I can tell you it’s lasting longer on my third fill. I am at 2000 miles and I’m barely at 3/4 still available.
