It seems dealers negotiate much less these days in general. I bought mine in July of this year and as of that time, I was just glad there was no dealer mark up.
I'll bet you could find a sub $40K Sport/S, but you'll have to look for it. I've seen a couple online, but on the two dealer lot's...
Has anyone actually experienced any symptoms associated with the driveshaft recall? Supposedly only 5% of vehicles, so I wouldn't expect a lot have experienced any issues, but I would expect they would show up here. Forums tend to magnify issues often, but I don't recall seeing anyone...
Those are standard on the Sport Model, but don't think they come on the other trims. Seems like most people are looking to get rid of them or cut them out. I was glad my Overland didn't have them, but to each his own :)
I've been a little concerned about the recall as well. Checked the site and nothing came back on my VIN, but I'm within the date range.
It may be wishful thinking; but I now have over 3000 miles on mine. As fast as drive shafts turn, I would think that if mine didn't have any lube in it, it...
Awesome, I'm in north GA and have been close to that spot before, thought it looked a little familiar!
Thanks to all for all the responses here.
My route to the gladiator was likely a bit different than most. Up to now I've always kept a muscle car/sports car AND some kind of cheaper truck...
You make a good point about those coming from wranglers. A jlu Sahara is only 2-5 k cheaper than my overland jt. Getting a bed for that adder isn’t bad at all.
Test drive a sport s (not sure If it was max tow or not). But it wandered pretty badly. Then drove the overland, felt much better. I’m sure the trim level was not related but one was better than the other.
So I was approached by a coworker today who initially asked the standard question, "how do you like your Gladiator?" Being quite used to this by now, my canned response is, "I like it, so far, so good". He then mentioned that he owns a RAM diesel and was at the dealer for service when they...
Bought a Hard top because I wanted to be able to carry a canoe on the roof, and fear of the soft top rear window getting sun fogged over time. I do plan on getting an aftermarket soft top when cheaper options become available. Almost wish I'd gone soft top now as it's so much easier to get...
I get waves from most Jeeps. I have noticed that Male drivers seem to be more likely to wave than Female ones as well, though I have had a few female jeep drivers that were really excited to see a Jeep on the road.
My "theory" on the gender difference is that it's mostly because most Jeep...
I liked the general looks from first sight and still do. Like others, I still go out to the garage and just stare at it. That said, there are some "awkward" angles and I can understand why some other reasonable people may not like it.
But as others have stated; the average "man on the street"...
I'm actually seeing more and more JT's in the northern Atlanta burbs every week. For a while I was seeing the same 2-3 that must be local and just this week, I saw 2-3 completely different ones, just on my daily commute.
I have talked to a few JL owners that say they would've bought a JT if it...
Also have the same Bushwacker. Mainly I wanted some protection for that part of the hood and maybe a little deflection for road debris. Like the look, can't really speak to effectiveness yet.
I'll advocate for the Overland here as it should meet all your requirements and be slightly more comfortable while doing it. From the factory it's better set up for the road than the other trims. I do some light off-roading with mine, but am on the street 90% of the time.
But if you're not...
Overland hardtop here, 100% stock with right at 2K miles today. Traded two vehicles in on it, so the Gladi is now my daily driver.
Gas Mileage: Averaging 19 with a 50-50 hwy-city mix. Was able to average 24mpg on one highway trip by babying it a bit. Won't normally drive that way, but...
What about the space under the seat? That's where I keep my bag when not in use, and it fits (barely) with the Styrofoam inserts in place. I actually find that the inserts hold the panels in place nicey as well, though the proper placement was a little tricky to sort out at first.
I do actually think the OP raises a fair point; afterall, if one never plans to take the tops off, or doors, or go off road, then a Tacoma or Ranger is a more practical choice (and cheaper to boot).
I'm betting a lot of Wrangler/Gladiator owners aren't very different from me. I don't think...
I have noticed it as well. Just one of those things I think we have to get used to. It's because the dash is so compact and has 4 speakers (I think) in it. The sound waves are basically right there with the steering column components, so the low frequency vibrations travel up the steering...
