I was going to say the same thing.
Though it seems they've ironed out a lot of the bugs with this 3rd gen engine. Not nearly as high a rate of bottom end failures. And I believe they went back to the CP3 fuel pump.
For a 6000# travel trailer I'd go half ton and call it a day. You'll just have a much better experience, in my opinion. I've been yanking travel trailers all over the US for 10 years now. For my own sanity I've come to the conclusion that it's way better to have way more truck than you need when...
I'll just toss my $0.02. I have a Sport S with max tow. I helped a friend get his 24' 6100# travel trailer home after his truck's rear blew on the way to the campground. Used my old Equalizer 4P WDH, got everything level and hit the road. It was....well, it towed it. But it wasn't what I...
Unless they put it in there by mistake I can't find any reference anywhere to the 8HP75 being used in 3.6 applications, Wrangler included. It is standard on the 3.0 Ecodiesel though.
As far as I know the 8HP75 was only used in Wrangler/Gladiator's with the EcoDiesel, Wrangler 392 and Ram 2500/3500 with the 6.4. The 8HP50/850RE is used for 3.6 V6 applications in Wrangler/Gladiator/Durango. The 8HP70 is used in Ram 1500, Charger/Challenger, Durango and Grand Cherokee with the...
You're well beyond the limit for lemon law. Don't wait for Stellantis or the dealer to do a buy back. They'll drag their feet forever. Contact the BBB and their attorney's will assist with a lemon law case for free. I did that with an F150 and it was very painless.
You need ZF stating that IN WRITING. You may also want them to provide a list of "Approved" fluids. You may need to have your lawyer request this information via legal channels.
I'm considering a Hemi swap in my JKR. For all intents and purposes you can source a used 5.7 complete engine with harness and computers for $3500-4500. A used 4x4 8 speed run around $1500. For my needs a conversion harness for a JK is $1300. Mounts, exhaust, plumbing relocation, efan, regear...
There are tons of great YouTube channels explaining what it is and how it's applied. Apex Detail, PanTheOrganizer, AmmoNYC, FabAutomotive.
But, essentially, it's a silicon or metal oxide coating that should be applied to a thoroughly decontaminated and paint corrected vehicle. This coating is...
Welcome to the world of "if it ain't broke don't fix it" because EVERYTHING is on back order.
My opinion. Manufacturers shouldn't be building new vehicles when there are current customers out there waiting for those parts.
That's my biggest gripe. People that put HID and LED in halogen housings. So much light scatter. There's no adjustment that will fix it.
I have astigmatism in both eyes. When these YaBro's with their LED's in halogen housings are coming towards me it pretty much blinds me.
At least the cops...
It's not only power that dictates towing capabilities. Wheelbase, GVW, braking, overall length, axles and suspension.
A mid sized truck is going to max out at around 8000 lbs no matter what motor is in it. Controlling and stopping a load are just as important as moving a load.
I would love to see proof of this.
The only thing different between a VVT and original Pentastar is the head. And that's only a minor change. Everything else on the VVT has the same part numbers as the original from 2010-2012. Bearings, pistons, rings, rods, oil pump, block. All the same...
Not that I've ever seen. And I've done rear brakes 3 times now. Only thing that's damp/wet is the backing plate. I suppose if the leak is bad enough it could contaminate the parking brake.
Honestly the parking brake on my JKR never really worked anyways. I've spent enough time adjusting it...
Rear seals in my '12 JKR have been leaking since....2012. Both of them. It's not a bad leak, not dripping, just leaves the backing plates damp. I call it rust prevention. I didn't care at the time since it wasn't bad, and always said I'd slap some upgraded shafts in there if it did get bad...
That's exactly why I got a max tow. To pull my bass boat if my main truck is down. Plus I wanted it to be as stable as possible for when my wife tows the boat. I bought my Gladiator for truck things. I have a JK Rubicon for off road things.
