Maybe a dumb question but wouldn't the isopropyl negate the need for clay barring the paint? Seems like it would strip any & all contaminants off the paint - well, unless it were absolutely filthy before.
PS to my post above:
I sued this trailer brake controller:
Pretty pricey for as small as it is but it worked flawlessly. I doubt I'll ever use it again though. My 22 ft. wake board boat trailer has surge brakes and I don't intend to tow anything with electric brakes again! Anyone wants to...
Towed this 16 ft enclosed trailer well over 1000 miles from Seattle to Atascadero, CA last June. I had it weighed, 4500 lbs. Totally stock 2020 JTR. Trailer had a weight distributing hitch. NOTHING done to the truck. I bought rear air bags for the trip but ran out time to install them.
Not...
Haha, It's NOT un-American not to like an ugly paint job whether it's red, white & blue or not.
Your comments reminds me of this joke pic (and there ARE a few who are nearly this over-the-top):
Ok, I get it. And I've read a number of threads on the ESS subject and it DOES seem as though it just adds unnecessary complexity to a usually reliable system: starting & charging. I suppose it somehow helps Jeep keep it's MPG up to meet some regulatory requirement?
Oh well, I'll keep mine...
Oh, good to know.
I really didn't research these tires as I should have. My brother-in-law had the same newly installed on his earlier Wrangler and when he told me the price I asked if he could get them for me? He said it was the going price at this one small shop so I jumped at it. My factory...
Had new BFG All Terrain KO2's installed today. Same 285/70/17's as stock. I considered putting 35's on it, but why? It's a daily driver and rarely goes off road. Yeah, a mall crawler ha ha. I don't care if others look down their noses at that. I didn't buy it for them.
Got an excellent, all...
Why would I do this?^^^
The ESS doesn't bother me; though a lot of guys seem to have conniptions about it. I'd not intentionally disable a factory feature. Yeah, it'll cost me a few batteries over the years but if that's all it does, I'm fine with it. Like I said before, the truck hasn't given...
Around town running errands, etc. So not typically long drives. Before it threw the code I'd learned to feather the brakes and the ESS wouldn't happen.
Interesting that for literally a couple months I was getting the message that the battery was not ready or was charging - whatever the typical...
So I just got back from picking up my truck from the dealer. NO CHARGE!!
Shocking! Never thought that would be the case. They said the batteries were discharged, charged them up, test drove it and all is well. I'm suspicious because I drive the truck everyday. There would be no reason for the...
Not the right thread for this question BUT, what was the deal with getting the black grille? Was it a stand alone option or did it come with some specific package?
I ask because the first Stingrey JTR I saw that made me REALLY want the same had one. I bought a used 2020 from Carvana in July...
Hmmm, A STAR bulletin - Do you know why it says not to replace them or what codes have to be showing? Any way to know the number of that bulletin?
Because the service writer mentioned it when we made the service date! Probably an easy way to boost the service price.
Why the need to replace BOTH batteries when it starts fine using the main battery? Is the AGM battery putting a drain on the main that will eventually kill it and I just don't know it yet?
I ask because we are leaving on a trip through the Southwest - Taos, Canyon de Chelly, Santa Fe, etc...
Resurrecting this old thread because my 2020 JTR with about 34,000 miles threw the same code as in pot #7 above a week ago. Nothing else has happened. Nothing seems wrong with the main battery. Is it just a matter of time?
The Start/Stop worked fine when I bought my truck; used from Caravan...
Towed my 2020 JTR a bit over 1000 miles in the last week. Not a single problem with either the Jeep, the RV nor the tow. Man, the interstates are pot holed to hell!
Even pulled it over the "Grapevine" here in SoCal, a known tough pull and still manage to stay between 55 - 65 mph without any...
