Well I have joined the club after cancelling my long awaited RSI SmartCap. Ordered my Contour this week, no windows, they say it should be here in January.
Forgive me if it’s mentioned somewhere in this thread ad nauseam, but I’ve seen pictures of a fold out stove system for the contour...
Well I’ll let y’all know how I end up liking it, after 8 months I’ve thrown in the towel on my order. Picking up a Contour instead since I found one available sooner. But you’re right, I still think the RSI is the better looking one.
If I could fit through a car wash I would! Why would I care if I get tiny micro scratches when I’m already pin striping it on trails? It gets pinstriped more than it gets washed!
What’s the order turnaround on getting one of these without the windows?
RSI just pushed back my delivery date for like the 5th time, so I think I’m done with dealing with that. 11 months wait just isn’t worth it anymore.
Awesome to see you on here, your diesel videos helped me learn a lot about my platform. Sad I missed y’all up at the airstrip show, I ended up under the weather. Can’t wait to see the progress on this build!
Man, you guys are really getting my excitement up. Saw my first one mounted to a Gladiator in person on Saturday, they really do look killer.
The rains are here full force in the PNW now, it’ll be so nice to have my bed dry. Congrats on your cap!
I don’t have anything forum wise to give, it’s just what I’ve heard over the years. And what my installer told me when ordering my lift kit as well, con’s were NVH and maintenance.
I very well may be wrong, just thought I’d throw in my two cents.
That hasn’t been my experience, nor what I’ve heard from old timers as well. I’ve always heard that Johnny joints give you the best articulation, but in return give you noise, harsher onroad ride, and higher maintenance.
I have one of the Kracken systems too, and love it. I’m just starting to wish that at least the rocker power switch was mounted to the drivers side. I find myself either having to run around my truck or pull myself halfway in the passenger side of the Jeep to watch my tpms screen for proper...
I’d have to go back and see if I wrote it down somewhere. But for something as important as that, I’d contact SDI and your lift kit company and coordinate their answers. That way if something goes wrong with fitment you’ll have it from the horses mouth.
