I'd be more worried about that cap retaining dust, salt spray, and water that would cause corrosion or bind up that locking cylinder. At least if it's open I can clean it off regularly when washing the truck.
Or just use a 2x8 from the hardware store and hit the corners with an orbital sander for a few seconds...
I even added some L-Trac rails to mine so I can keep stuff from rolling around, hell of a lot cheaper and more effective.
I remember years ago hitting a massive storm on the way to Moab. I was in an XJ and my dad was in the FZJ80. Highway 191 south from I-70 was like driving in to Mordoor, but darker. It was 3 PM and as dark as night out; the lighting was never more than 15 seconds apart and so close to the cars...
The KO2's big selling point is durability. Comparing it to the tires that were on the market for most of the KO2's lifespan bear that out. The Goodyear Duratracs got superior traction, but I saw more of them with punctures and ripped out sidewalls than anything else on the trail. The Coopers...
Good luck blocking it on older cars. I swear, my next vehicle is going to be as dumb as possible. The absolute last thing I want is Google Gemini permanently installed in my car.
The entire car industry is trying to turn cars into cell phones - something to be replaced every 2-4 years that...
The KO2 was built with North American deserts in mind, it was never intended to be a deep snow tire. That being said, I ran three sets of KO2s over the years in the mountain winters and never had a problem getting around. They are not nearly as good as a dedicated snow tire - and no All...
It depends on how much rain, even the highways become impassible during flash floods, but a little rain helps keep the dust down. If heavy rains are expected it’s best to stay out of the back country, go do Fins n Things near town.

CVs can be rebuilt, but the labor is often as much as replacing the part, so most shops just want to swap the whole assembly out. However, if the part is back ordered or is very expensive (like a drive shaft vs a half shaft) it may make more sense to do a rebuild with a new boot.
I think I want to re-do my compressor setup anyway. I built it into an Apache case and the compressor gets too hot to put the hoses in the box after use. I think I need to do a smaller case for the compressor and maybe rivet a soft bag to the lid for the hoses...
This might work if I run the...

I have a 400P compressor as my main, it pulls 30 amps at 12v - which is the max the 7 pin can provide if I'm reading this right. I don't think it has an SAE plug on the power cord either, so I'd have to add one and still carry clamps as a backup.
Might be worthwhile to build...
I gave a set of various 10mm sockets from Gearwrench to our mechanic for Christmas last year. He opened it up and looked like a kid on Christmas morning. "You've seen the memes!"
Totally worth it.
Without the sport bar and a different grill insert it looks like a more conventional truck - and not a bad looking one. I think they nailed the proportions and those mirrors look like they give great visibility when towing.
It will be interesting to see the payload and towing figures when they...
For a midsize truck, probably a turbo 4 cyl in the 2.0-2.5 L range. The only trucks left in the class without that setup are the Gladiator and Frontier.
It’s not a bad looking truck, I think the grill could be reworked a little, but a solid Tacoma and Ranger competitor.
