  1. Metalcloak 3.5 game changer ride harshness

    Then there's our old-school LJ rocking the 15"s. 34.6-15=19.6 19.6/2=9.8 9.8-1.47=8.33" of actual sidewall with a 35" tire, .33" more than a 37" on a 17" and 1.53" more than a 37" on a 20" rim despite being a smaller tire. (34.6" measurement taken from a Mickey Thompson Baja Boss MT 35" for a...
  2. Metalcloak 3.5 game changer ride harshness

The thing you're forgetting is the size of the obstacles. A stock Jeep is not going to be taking on obstacles that need a 37" tire. Things that size need more sidewall and lower pressures. You also knocked a full inch off a 33" tire, that's not the case. At larger sizes you can be down as...
  3. Metalcloak 3.5 game changer ride harshness

The only sidewall that matters is over the contact patch, the sidewall at the top of the tire isn't doing anything and doesn't count. 37" tire size is usually more like 36" in actual measurement. So (36" tire)-(20" wheel) = (16" total sidewall). Now cut that in half, since we are only looking...
  4. Need suggestions for stubborn drag link socket at Pitman arm

If nothing works and a torch isn't doing the job, the only thing left is to buy a new pitman arm. Fortunately they are relatively cheap. Use a cutoff wheel to cut almost all the way through, but don't hit the spline. Then use a chisel to break the last little bit so it will come off. When you...

And already tuned for that suspension and spring combo
  6. Black Bear Pass - Closed Temporarily

Someone welded the diff on a Crown Victoria and drove it all over Moab, doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.
  7. Black Bear Pass - Closed Temporarily

As entertaining as it would be, I'm opposed to leaving litter, fluids, and off-trail damage behind. There's enough trash on the mountain as it is.
  8. Inner fender liners for diesel?

Are yours torn or damaged? I’d look at wreckers for JL or JT diesel OE liners and buy some that way. I agree on not wanting metal, that’s the wrong material for the job.
  9. Metalcloak 3.5 game changer ride harshness

I have the red RockSports and they ride way better than the OE Fox shocks - but my OEs were on the way out when I bought the truck and failed a year later. I think you have to do the driveshaft if you are going up more than 1.5-2" to prevent binding. I did the driveshaft with a 2.5 GameChanger...
  10. Types of spare fuses?

That's the US Market, the 710 cap is for the Australian, New Zealand, and South African markets only and isn't compatible with the North American OIL caps.
  11. Metalcloak 3.5 game changer ride harshness

I missed the 20" rims. Sell or trade those for some 17" Methods or Racelines with real rubber on them.
  12. Metalcloak 3.5 game changer ride harshness

Imagine spending that kind of money for MC parts and not getting appropriate shocks. Even the RockSport Reds would be an improvement over OE. Go get yourself some real shocks, either from MC that are made for that lift, or some Bilstein 5100s for now. @Metalcloak has excellent customer...
  13. Types of spare fuses?

I second avoiding cheap Amazon or aftermarket fuses. Independent testing has shown most of those cheap brands don't pop when they should, increasing the risk of damaging very expensive electronics or worse, burning your truck down.
  14. Black Bear Pass - Closed Temporarily

I may have done some dumb shit, but I've never had the local news not-so-subtly tell me to GTFO of the state and not come back.
  15. rubed a curb

That's embarrassing! Tell people you scraped it on a rock while carrying an injured child over a mountain to the hospital in the middle of the night, or some equally heroic off road shenanigans.
  16. What the heck are these for?

Looks like a strange version of a rub rail, used for keeping your vehicle off rocks and trees; these stick out really far though and kind of defeat the purpose of having tires outside the fender. At that point I'd just put sheet metal over them and make it a reinforced fender. Maybe they are...
  17. What makes you feel happy.

And the less Jeep there is, the happier you are (go ahead and take the doors off)
  18. 4x4 Colorado experience... buyers beware

I’ve seen this before, customers will get screwed. Don’t expect refunds and anyone with money tied up needs to contest the charges with their credit card company immediately.
