  1. What makes you feel happy.

A dirt trail in the southwestern red deserts and my “Go West” Spotify list - especially after a rare desert rain storm.
  2. The diesel is just superior…

What kind of off road? Because I don’t see a lot of solid axle Trophy Trucks.
  3. The diesel is just superior…

I’m always wary of unqualified statements, superior at what? It’s like saying solid axle is better than IFS - it isn’t, the application and situation matters. Different tools for different jobs.
  4. Stellantis sells VM Motori...

That's why we bring at least two vehicles.
  5. Stellantis sells VM Motori...

Am I the only MF'er here who checks his DEF gauge? Running out of DEF is about as dumb as running out of fuel. Most of those parts are provided by suppliers, not Stellantis. I can go buy Spicer U-joints to 40 year old jeeps that were made a month ago in the same factory and on the same...
  6. The diesel is just superior…

Don't forget that you can also have the remote start turn on the passenger heated seat when it turns on the driver's.
  7. Return to Moab (and the west) - itinerary suggestions?

That road up to Polar Mesa is maintained, unless they took a wrong turn and ended up on Rose Garden Hill. The road should be in decent shape unless it was recently washed out or you are there in the spring before the grader can get to it. This is a great plan, but camping on White Rim requires...
  8. Return to Moab (and the west) - itinerary suggestions?

Dome Plateau is a lot of touring once you get up the initial climb. It's scenic, but routefinding can be difficult due to multiple criss-crossing trails, a good GPS app will be very helpful. Onion Creek is nice and you can continue on to Polar Mesa if the weather over the La Sals is good that...
  9. The diesel is just superior…

I guess I will just toss these King race shocks I was going to install.
  10. The diesel is just superior…

It's not idling that's the problem, it's long uphill climb (especially in hot weather or at altitude)
  11. The diesel is just superior…

We have a diesel JT and LJ. I'm only on 35"s but there's no way I'm hauling the LJ around here at 75 MPH, not through these mountains or at these altitudes. Maybe 55 going uphill and with one eye on the oil temp the whole time. I thought about the Mojave, but then realize that I could make a...
  12. 4xe Gladiator Dead according to sources

Exactly. Building a business on suspended enforcement is just making a massive problem for yourself in a few years.
  13. 4xe Gladiator Dead according to sources

This. The amount of crap info from those guys is honestly kind of impressive. They are a very "seat of the pants" operation that accidentally became a business.
  14. 4xe Gladiator Dead according to sources

How to do figure CAFE is "gone"? This administration is choosing not to enforce the law and reduced the penalties to $0, but it's still the law as far as I know. An amendment tacked onto a "must pass" spending bill in the future will easily reinstate those penalties and it would be much easier...
  15. What is really going on here? License plate lights wash out backup camera image while reversing at night

Mine is very inconsistent on this, I'm constantly having to crawl under the dash to unplug it and plug it back in or unmarry/remarry it to get that to work. It's nice in theory, but software solutions to this are buggy as hell and not reliable.
  16. Insurance for engine swaps?

Gotta pay for all those legal settlements for screwing over service members and data breaches because your password can only be 12 characters long and agents let scammers into your account for you. It's a full service company, no more inconvenience of dealing with scammers they send your money...
  17. Insurance for engine swaps?

More than 4"-4.5" isn't even road legal in many states
  18. Insurance for engine swaps?

See post #5 and #6 of this thread
  19. What’s your #1 must-have light for trail rides?

What lightbar mount is that? The VisionX one I have is made to be on top of the bar and I can't flip it, I need a deep drop to lower it.
  20. What’s your #1 must-have light for trail rides?

Factory LED headlight package with a Tazer so I can use high-beams with fogs. Seriously, it's the easiest option. You just don't need long distance spot lights unless you are doing high speeds at night, I'm never going to out-drive my headlights on the trail in the dark. If we are talking...
