  1. How often has your exhaust system done a Regen

Just hit 20 k miles . Never any dash message or any other hint of regen happening. Drive it just like my 2017 3.6 jk. Same kind of 4 wheelin, same 12 miles city to work . No issues so far . Did notice a decrease in mpg at 18k cured that with an air filter change . Diesel basically exactly...

  3. 2021 Gladiator Maintenance/Reliability

Ive just turned over 14 k with my 2021 JTRD. No issues with the diesel whatsoever. Oil changes cost me about 75 bucks. Towing Utility and race trailers no problem. Best MPG 33 avg 27. Good luck
  4. Eco diesel Suspension bottoming out on normal roads

I cut the steelbump stops off in order to install adjustable front hydraulic stops. The limit of uptravel is exactly the same as stock. No hitting of frame or oil pan. All of this made my vehicle more capable and fun without having to do a complete suspension change. Stupid improvement ?
  5. Eco diesel Suspension bottoming out on normal roads

I wound up with 3 1/2 inches of up travel to fully compress. The hydraulic bump stops were planned from the beginning as I love them on my TJ. Just seemed like a simple solution for now that made the vehicle better without too much effort. I may wind up putting Three-quarter inch spacers in the...
  6. Eco diesel Suspension bottoming out on normal roads

Yep I did it at my shop on a Saturday morning. Raise the truck on a two post lift, remove both front tires, remove the swaybar and lower shock bolts removed the two brackets that hold the brake lines and ABS sensors lower the left side first With a transmission jack. I wasn’t interrupted and I...
  7. Eco diesel Suspension bottoming out on normal roads

Yes there is some cutting involved, that’s why I had the extra half hour cause I didn’t read the directions carefully. Essentially you cut part of the old bump stop housing off in order to install the new hydraulic bump stops. By the way I’ve been experimenting with different pressures in the...
  8. Dodge had a better soft top design in the 80's

Actually when I first inspected the gladiator soft top at a dealer I was able to raise and lower it in a matter of seconds and it reminded me of nothing so much as a Dusenburg Phaeton. Very similar design and engineering. Dusenburg however folded back far enough to obstruct rear visibility. All...
  9. Eco diesel Suspension bottoming out on normal roads

Took me about two hours and then another half hour because I didn’t read the directions clearly. It really was quite easy. My first test drive out to the Johnson Valley revealed a world of difference. I use the Taser to disconnect the front sway barAnd was able to travel at very high speeds on...
  10. Reliability? Concerns..

That was a very thoughtful post from male gator. I agree with almost everything except I do expect my eco-diesel to last 500,000 miles. I’m a professional mechanic by trade and I’ve owned three power strokes two Cummins and one 2015 ram eco-diesel. I’ve had my gladiator diesel for eight months...
  11. Eco diesel Suspension bottoming out on normal roads

My Solution to this Issue. First a little back ground. I purchased my Jtrd Rubicon in December of 20 and did extensive wheeling throughout Johnson Valley, death Valley, Anza Borrego and Glamis. . Got to the point where I could anticipate the Bottoming outA and learn to apply the brakes to...
  12. Diesel or hybrid engine?

Think about this for a minute. Your in Texas in July its 110 with high humidity and your Driving with your Elderly Parents. Flat tire you need to leave Engine running to have A/C. Ditto Wyoming in winter. Evs dont cut it for those conditions.
  13. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

After watching this thread and others like it I had the opportunity to run a similar test with my 2021 JTRD. First off the truck is on 35’s but is otherwise stock and just turned over 12,000 miles. Secondly the trailer was a 16 foot twin axle utility box trailer that added quite a bit of frontal...

  16. Camping and fishing around Bishop Ca.

Try the silver canyon 4x4 trail . Its fantasticly scenic, climbs about 6000 ft out of Bishop to the white mountains. Can come down weyman canyon on the other side. Trail leaves just past the railroad museum in Bishop. Lots of water crossings. Lots of good fishing on the owens river north of...
  17. Just howcapable offroad is a stock JTRD

I should’ve been more clear in the original post. Gold Mountain Trail has lots of rock crawling and fairly technical challenges with three more severe ledge waterfall type challenges. Those three require precise wheel placement and usually a spotter. I was by myself so did not take pictures,. I...
  18. Just howcapable offroad is a stock JTRD
