Just rolled over 10 k with my Jt ruby diesel. Only mod is JKS acos pro which lifted front end one inch , cured the bumpstop issue and let me run desert roads like a Mojave. Any how been offroading constantly since purchase and decided to try a technical challenging trail just to see what it would do. I had previously run the Gold Mountain trail in Big Bear 6 years ago in a LJ Rubicon , Two friends in Jk Rubis bailed out at the second serioS climb.
Glad to say my JT ( now christened Drag Nuts) made it through unscathed, though the skid plates got a workout. For those of you who havent been over Gold Mountain VI theres lots of rock crawling involved and 3 severe ledges (Johnson Valley type) most stock 4 wd vehicles couldnt manage the first mile. I cant tell you how impressive this vehicle is off road!

Pics? What allowed the Rubicon to complete the trail? Lockers, ground clearance...?

I should’ve been more clear in the original post. Gold Mountain Trail has lots of rock crawling and fairly technical challenges with three more severe ledge waterfall type challenges. Those three require precise wheel placement and usually a spotter. I was by myself so did not take pictures,. I usedthe rear locker only for the first and third climb and both lockers for the more difficult second one or the truck slide sideways. Wish I had taken pictures, but even though I felt the truck bottom out a few times couldn’t find any damage to the skid plates. First time I’ve had the truck on that difficult to trail and really didn’t know what to expect. I’m impressed to say the least
