A '24 or newer Jeep, as all the airbags deployed. The rollbar held up nicely, and the top shredded to nothing, as expected with fiberglass. A seatbelt, might have saved that individual, but guessing they didn't fare well with injuries. You can get a 3.6l Jeep to 112mph, not that you would want...
When I was a really young lad, I used to think my grandpa was deaf, but as I near his age, I realize that he could hear everything, people just annoyed him, so he acted like he couldn't hear so people would leave him alone. Smart guy.
Even when I lived in Colorado, I kept the Sunrider on year round, but no heavy snow loads on it. The freedom tops have been in their bag since January 2020. Now in Texas, it's Halloween, and it's still 83°.
This clutch is actually really useable now. I feathered it a ton through Hamburger Hill on Kane Creek. If anything, that first obstacle burned the clutch in a bit, the engagement point is even better after the hot message. I know I'm in the minority on the recall success, but it's been night and...
After that obstacle, I had plenty of time for it to cool down spotting others through it. Air onto the unit would cool it quicker, but unsure what would work as a quick fix.
Moab trip last month, I finally got the hot clutch message. Currently about 15k on the new clutch. I was definitely pushing it through Kane Creek in Moab.
Don't encourage @WILDHOBO to spend more money, he's doing just fine on his own. 🤣
That being said, the reverse valve body idea makes sense and is something to look at.
So many of the Chinese knockoffs look like they have 8-10 gauge wire leads, but in reality, more like a 20 gauge wire with 6 gauge insulation. It's not a trust but verify, it's verify before you trust.
Added a Rydeen Tombo 360x dashcam, take-off from @WILDHOBO to my wife's JLU. With the bad drivers down in the RGV, and her JLU hit at least 3 times in parking lots, anything to catch video of any instance is better than nothing. I'll likely get the same unit for mine.
I picked up a twin piston unit from NAPA, identical to all the Chinese made twin piston units, added a pressure switch and quick connect, and can do 4 tires simultaneously from 15psi to 45psi in about 5 minutes. Paid maybe $200 for the compressor and 4-tire kit total.
