I have not (yet) had that problem with mine. On mine, it takes a *lot* of force to roll in the rounded hook into its place but then the fasteners at the end of the cover click into place easily.
Mine also "clunks" when shifting from Park to Reverse. It did not do that during the first 1000 miles but started doing that thereafter. Minor -- for now.
Mopar 2 inch lift and 35 inch Toyos. I am actually pretty happy with the overall power but certainly 33's and no lift would have been better from a pure power stand point.
I did a quick overnight in the pines as an equipment test. I did not have the Curt Echo trailer brake controller as it did not arrive in time, but, heck, my trailer is only about 1500 pounds and I hardly noticed it back there.
ESS is strange. Very often it is disabled because "the battery is charging." But when it works, it seems to work fine until after a while when at a stop, the motor will stop but, with my foot still on the brake, the motor will decide to start up again on its own. What's up with that?
The Oregon Trailer does not provide any heat (propane heater) and that does not appear to be an option either. For me, that's a fail (and I live in AZ!). No AC does not bother me because I don't expect it in an off road trailer that is intended to be used without hookups. You could probably...
I also ordered it from etrailer just yesterday. I'm only pulling a 1200-1500 pound T@G teardrop but it has electric brakes and I'd like to utilize them.
I did the same thing a couple of months ago and also liked the ride of the Wrangler Unlimited better -- the Gladiator wandered on the Fwy and the Wrangler did not, and was more familiar to me to boot. But, I drove a JT again later and it was a better experience. It did not wander, the steering...
My JT came with the Mopar lift and 35 inch Toyo Open County MT tires. The psi was 47 in all four tires and actually it rode pretty well. But I dropped the psi to 34 cold (running 37 warm) and boy -- MUCH better on dirt roads. With that long wheelbase the JT rides really well on dirt now --...
New River, AZ check in. Went to Ernhardt/Glendale last week to order a JT and instead, I drove away in a white LE. Getting used to it and liking it. I have a 2005 LJ auto that I am keeping and a 2015 JK 2 door 6 speed that I am reluctantly selling. The JT drives so differently that it's just...
I carry a bunch of recovery stuff that I hope someone out on the trails will know how to use properly -- because I really don't. Wish there were a "vehicle recovery" class I could attend, and learn what I need to know!
That Scamp is a neat trailer, as is the Airstream. I decided to go more basic and pull a T@G which gives me an outside kitchen and a secure place to sleep -- but not much more. I had the suspension swapped out for a Timbren axel less and it goes down dirt roads with a lot less bouncing. I'll...
The JT I bought rolls on Toyo MT 35 inch tires on Black Rhino rims and the 2 inch Mopar lift. I test drove it and thought that the power was just fine (bear in mind, I come from a 2005 LJ auto, and a 2015 JK manual). In my world, the JT scoots pretty good.
Well, I went in to the dealer today to possibly order a pretty much fully optioned Rubicon in the Gobi color. Somehow, I drove out in a fully optioned bright white LE. Not sure what happened -- but I like it. Acceleration is fine.
