I really like the bars. They provide a nice large step. they stick out past the fender flares a little. The fit was not perfect but do-able without mods. Had to put all bolts in loose and then tighten them up. Just put one of the drop steps on, had to wait for ice to melt off board. Step fits...
Ok, If it wasn't the uniqueness/Jeep thing Wranglers would have never made it. If you have someone that actually considers any other small SUV (other than the discontinued Land Cruiser) as competition the Jeep would loose in their mind. When you compare comfort, options, price or mpg the Jeep...
255/70R17. Not taller but slightly wider. These are my winter wheels now, I have a set of Rubicon wheels with 255/75R17 that are for summer. Thinking about 255/80R17 for the summer wheels.
I like the Snazzberry color and the interior. But a definite no on the 20" wheels. And as someone else mentioned, If it is a "High Altitude" it should have a turbo to compensate for the thin air. Probably too much mark up for may taste any way. A turbo might make it worth the price though.
Do you have a picture of the step down with the tailgate down? I have used an amp research on my old F350. I used the step to get in the bed when the tailgate was open. That looks like it might be up under the tailgate too much.
You could try the Go Rhino brand step rails. They have steps that you can bolt onto the bottom of the rail where you want them. I have them on mine. I don't have the steps bolted on yet, but I don't have it lifted either. They have different models also, If you would like a different look. I...
From my research. The Max tow and Rubicon axles are different housing, size bearings and spline count from the other JT axles. Found this looking on gearing websites back before I order my JT Max Tow in October. Don't remember the site. If I recall correctly Max tow/Rubicon are 32 spline and...
Just guessing here but. I would think it would not make much difference with a 5th wheel or Goose neck. You would have some additional weight on the front axle due to the hitch being just forward of the rear axle, however it should not be that significant. With a bumper pull though, depending on...
Forgot to mention ball joints. That seems to be a biggie on the heavy duty trucks with diesels. I know Ford and Dodge have had issues with them. I have had both. I think the front of the Gladiator is light enough it should be OK even with the diesel.
For the weight/payload to be increased we have to consider several items.
The drive train has to have enough strength/torque, The Diesel, enough said there.
The frame has to be strong enough, Hopefully they planned for the weight of the diesel up front (Pun intended).
The axles have to have...
I have been wanting another Jeep CJ/Wrangler since I sold my '79 CJ7. I have had Jeeps since then, but '77 Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, Wife's CRD Liberty. No Wrangler style. The only thing stopping me was we tow a boat, and no Wrangler ever had enough tow capacity. And them the built the...
I will say this. I am very disappointed, there is no way to hold the cover fully open. And/or easily remove it for hauling larger items. I am hoping I can find one of the aftermarket manufacturers that will sell a retro kit to add prop rods and "thumb screw" set up. Like Rugged Ridge has. Or I...
I had a 79 CJ and always wanted a hardtop. Soft top to drafty, same with the Samurai I still have. And a lot of work to take of and put back on, at least more than my Old BMW. I bought the Dual top group on my Gladiator. Picked it up11/26, In St Louis area, so have not had a chance to put the...
