My wife is the same height as yours. She is slim, fit, and has trouble getting into my JT. Not end of the world, just makes it more difficult. I see a lot of JT's and JL's lifted excessively from my point of view and I would bet 75% of them never go rock crawling. Everything comes at a price...
If you are running big tires ..........say 37" or bigger and you lift that JT six more inches, you better get a ladder to get into it unless you are 7' tall. I'm 6'2", lean, have 37's on my JTR, and have an AEV 2.5" lift and it's not fun getting into the Jeep. My question is, what are you going...
I have same tires and had same problem. My fix. Get some Simple Green, and use a stiff long bristle brush to scurb the tires a couple times. Let them dry and use some original formula Armor All to cover the tires surface. Let dry. It took two wash and two applications of the product to get the...
I have a SoftTopper on mine. Great product and light. Had one on my ZR2 as well and loved the thing. Easy to install and remove as needed. They are about $1100 but worth it in my opinion.
Bigger tires need more caster. That is more dangerous difficult in JT. Did you install geometry correction brackets? Caster matters. I will assume the alignment shop did it correctly but many shops just use factory settings and that is not sufficient when installing bigger tires and a lift. I...
I have a 23 JTR that acted the same way. I almost returned it to the dealer but decided to keep it. I installed AEV lift with AEV wheels and 37’s and had the alignment tweaked by my off-road shop and it drives like its a Corvette now. Well almost anyway. Not sure about your vehicle but steering...
I went from JK to ZR2 and then after almost four years back to a JT. I liked the ZR2 very much and on the road it drove way better than any Jeep I owned. But offroad it punished me. I drove it for 70000 miles and got three thousand less for it than I paid in 2020. They are great trucks but JT...
Well what do you want from us, an ovation? You got a lemon or you don't know how to take care of a vehicle. It happens. Same can happen with any vehicle. Good luck to you.
I have a JTR with Warn 12k winch. I used the Warn winch plate with Mopar steel bumper. I would caution you that all bumpers with builtin winch plate are not the same. Some are junk. I used the Warn plate because it is beefy and designed to carry the winch load regardless of the bumper in front...
Using a little care when changing the oil and not over tightening it, there is nothing wrong with the oil filter housing other than, in my opinion, the location which should be at the bottom of the engine. Techs get paid based on their work output. They are in too big a hurry and resort to power...
I hear you. I keep a big pintle hitch on my JT year around. I have been rear ended at traffic stops three times by idiots who can't put their phone down while stopped at lights. Each time I came away unscathed but not the bumpee who hit me. That big old pintle hitch really raise heck with a...
Did you break in the new gears correctly? It's a big deal when it comes to differentials and a long life. Have you checked the temperture of the rear diff after driving it for a while? It may tell you if there is a problem or not. If both front and rear diff's were set up incorrectly, it may be...
Are you confident the gears were set up correctly? An incorrect setup can cause such noises sometimes. Could also be a rough set of gears. Not sure why ring and pinions come from factory so rough these days. It isnt necessarily an indicator of poor quality but its problematic for sure.
Judging by history, it appears that your answer depends on the dealership to some extent and how they view it. The manufacturers are starting to take a harder line on this sort of thing it seems. Pretty hard to fight them as well.
Sometimes this issue is due to driving habits. I have a JTR with 37's. I previously had a JK with LS conversion and 35's. Both vehicles used Milestar Patagonia's. I do not corner or brake hard with Jeeps that I own and my tires wear flat with no problems. Both my sons have JK's, and they have...
I have had two of those tops, both black. I would never get the grey ones. Nothing wrong with them but like the black ones, they can become stained by some soils with iron oxide in them. Both my tops were used extensively in central Oregon where the dust offroad has iron and other minerals from...
