Oh, I have plenty of power and torque. I'm just saying that, in 4 Hi, my truck has proven to be very capable in snow/icy conditions. Moreso than any previous 4wd vehicles I have owned. I believe that the limited slip differential, the traction control system, and the Patagonia XT's all...
We just got a Winter blast here in northwest Alabama. It started as ice, then added 4-5" of snow (mixed with more ice). It has now packed down to a solid sheet of the hard stuff. I am amazed. I don't know if it is the capability of these trucks, or the Patagonia XT's. Maybe both, but in 4...
Oh, no, I won't replace the present LSD until the clutch packs are worn out. I've read all sorts of conflicting reports pertaining to clutch life so I don't know when that will happen! I, too, was drawn to the Willys for the LSD. I didn't, and still don't think I will ever need a locker for...
I'll start it off. Mine is not radical. (I'm an old guy.) I went with 34" Patagonia XT tires, 1.75" wheel spacers, a winch buried in the stock plastic bumper, front levelling kit, and Barricade Rocker steps. My next mod will probably be an Eaton Truetrac in the back, or maybe Truetracs front...
I'm not dumping on JTDean for trading for a Chevy. To each his own. And I'm not dumping on you, Sweetums. I've just read, over and over on this forum, how the Gladiator ride is terrible. I'm just saying if you don't like the way it rides and handles, then don't buy it. But don't buy one and...
I know I'm gonna start a ****storm here, but why all the complaints about JT ride quality? Go ride in a CJ, a YJ, or even a TJ. Hell, if you want a wonderful ride, get a Cadillac, already. This is arguably, the most capable offroad truck on the planet. Do you expect it to ride on the highway...
I've got 34's on my Willys (3.73). It does hunt between 7th and 8th gear, but it did that to some extent with the factory 32's. It has plenty of power and I'm averaging around 18.5 mpg with the larger tires. You should be fine with 33's.
I went with the LoD plate and the Harbor Freight fairlead mount. You may find that you will need spacers between that fairlead mount and the outer bumper skin. I went with Max4x4Chris method of using 2 fairleads from Amazon as spacers to fill that gap. They're hidden inside the bumper and...
Oh yeah. Great for all kinds of things around the house. I grubbed some rose bushes from around the house. My wife couldn't believe how easy it was to rip those things out of the ground! I've guided trees to be felled with my winch many times.

You may or may not need to add a fairlead mount, depending on your bumper.
