I just put 37s and a 3.5 lift. Mpg suffered by about 2 mpg. Power delivery is a little slower, but i personally don't feel its a huge loss. I was still able to go offroad with plenty of TORQUE to manuever and go up a steep incline. Eventually I will do a tuner, intake, and exhaust for the small...
I think u gotta pull some serious vacuum (high rpms over period of time) to really worry. The other opening to the box is a lil higher. So long as you aren't up to or beyond top of fender, should be mostly OK.
Limiting factor isn't so much the intake, but the breather hoses for the diffs. Thats why the truck is rated at up to 30". Shouldn't be difficult to extend the breathers safely tho
I did not disconnect, since florida mostly flat and muddy/sandy. The trails were mostly atv/utv ridden. Just open land, unsanctioned. But fun either way. Didn't expect to find a spot to teeter like I did.
Getting dirty at the "compound" in East Central florida, space coast. Just put on 3.5 RC lift and 37x12.50r17 pats. Had to test them out. At one point I had her teetering on 2 wheels. Otherwise, handled perfectly, never got stuck, and it was wet, but not overly muddy.
37x12.5r17 milestar patagonia mt
Unlifted sport s max tow oe wheels
winglets removed
Slight poke up front, rear nearly completely under fender
no rubbing anywhere full clock, but it does come to about an inch from touching front plastic shield under front bumper
I would not recommend offloading...
After some reading I bit the bullet. 37x12.5 Pats on OE rim, no lift or spacers. No rubbing. Winglets temporarily removed (lift going on now). About 1" clearance from bumper skid. Would not recommend going offroad unless lifted. Only slightly pokes
After some reading I bit the bullet, and can confirm 37x12.5 Pats on OE rim, no lift or spacers. No rubbing. Winglets temporarily removed (lift going on now). About 1" clearance from bumper skid. Would not recommend going offroad unless lifted. Only slightly pokes. Loving the look.
Typically you can only "marry" one vehicle at a time to a programmer. You'll go crazy going back n forth because you'll have to return vehicle to default to use on another. That said, jscan probably ur best bet if ur not trying to upload tunes.
This is true. When I got my max tow, hwy I only saw 15-16 and 18-19 city. After about 700-800 miles I gradually saw economy shifting up. @ 1200 miles now I'm averaging 18.4, via comp. Just ordered 37s and 3.5 in lift, so I'll see in a week or 2 how that effects my mpg.
Let me get this straight... I can slap 37x12.5 on my sport s max tow rims without lift, so long as I dont go off road or do tight turns? Would this be OK until I slap on the 3.5 lift, or should I put lift on first then tires? Might only be for a week or 2 and I only drive on weekends.
Have you thought about removing it (very easy/quick) and spaying it a satin/matte black? Would be alot cheaper, just FYI. Even use plastidip, so if you goof, just peel off and start over, or diff color.
So I've seen now plenty of 12.5 wide tires on 7.5 wide rims. Any of you with long term reviews? No beads blown? I ask since I'm now looking at doing 3.5 lift with 37x12.5 patagonia mt on oe sport s rims. Just want to make sure I'm not going overboard and gonna regret it. May also add wheel...
