Are you taking the actual door hinges that the are corroding or just the door checks?
I've seen a few people asking about the door checks and mine are corroding slightly. My take is that they are a moving part (in and out of the check body everytime the door opens)...so the paint will wear...
Yes I forgot that part, I believe you actually need both vins. The original and the new one. (The stereo shop probably had the one that it came out of)
We're all regular people aren't we ?
There's website to purchase codes from, or if you have a good dealer they will do it, sometimes for a...
Sorry, I misunderstood the question. I thought you were asking if the IA unit would be locked. It will not but YES the stock radio is Vin coded
There are places to send them to get them unlocked or buy the codes from, or if you have a friendly dealer they can get you the unlock code
The fact that the jeeps head lights are recessed in the grill is the big problem leading to snow build up. The snow doesn't just blow off like it does on flush mounted lights.
My last bunch of f250s with leds had zero issues. The last 2 jeeps(JK & JT) are all but useless in the snow. I swapped...
Pretty common for JL/JT that the lights are aimed too high from the factory...just aim them down a bit .
Good rule of thumb is 3ft high at 25ft distance
With a tazer or other similar device that is not an issue...
(I'd assume the has or is getting one since I doubt he's running stock size tires with 3" lift)
I'd also check the fuse size for the factory fogs, and make sure it will handle what you plan on running for lights...if it won't just...
You can build one for about $30-40 with stuff from home Depot
Build plans are all over the interweb but I just eyeballed mine
( I made when I had a JK but it's fits the JT doors perfectly too)
They say they are "locked" with the gate closed but in reality no. I can flip the end piece up with my gate closed.
It's tight enough the average A-hole walking by can't flip it up but if you or someone wants to open it, it's relatively easy
I have to Mopar soft roll up as well. No issues with leaks at all. I have had it freeze against the tailgate a few times but usually frees up pretty easy
Can't you just use an extension instead of trying to change it....
Sorry just re read it...I see you are using an extension.. . .maybe use a straight extension rather than a flexible one and a magnetic torx socket .....
I've done it around town, I would not do it on the highway... especially as the soft top relaxes from normal use. The corners fit much tighter when new(at least mine did)
Usually, cooled seated are perforated for air flow....that's not really good for a vehicle that designed like a jeep is(wet seats don't get along with TED modules)
