Yes, the LEDs are an upgrade on some models and standard on others. Have you got the active safety group on your Sport? It includes the LED tail lights.
Ah, your post said Overland, not HA.
I know, potayto/potahto.
Jelly of that quilted leather! Post lots of pics. I'm tempted to go HA when I eventually order just for that interior. I had planned Rubicon, but I don't think I'd need the Rubi-goodies as I won't wheel it as much or as hard as I do...
Wide axles on the Overland? Are you sure? I believe only the Max Tow, Rubicon, Mojave and High Altitude have them.
Also, don't count on them having the beefier knuckles unless there is a Mojave or 392 sticker on the hood.
Yeah, they're fog lights. Don't use them unless needed as they will bother other drivers.
I have rear fogs on my Audi; they are great to make sure I don't get rear-ended in the fog, but some people run them all the time around here. Don't be one of those people.
Genright aluminum bumpers (and many others) are stout and will take a beating. Most people don't need a steel bumper; given the type of wheeling you described you would be doing, aluminum would be more than suitable. The weight savings alone are worth it, IMHO.
Not sure if by “they” you meant Kenda specifically, but if you meant “they” generically to mean anyone, Nitto makes a 37x10.5, but they are 18”. They (Nitto specifically, not generically) have a request size link on their website; if enough people ask for 37x10.5x17, maybe they (Nitto...
Genright makes aluminum bumpers that can hold a winch low. Personally I like the Ultra Clearance, but the Stubby requires less cutting and mods and only weighs 20lbs. You can also get either with a hoop if you want.
This. I'm inherently lazy and there are a bunch of times I'm doing a quick drive to the store or something and would love to take the Freedom Panels out but can't be bothered. The ability to throw the Sunrider back and close it up when inside the store (if the skies look questionable, which is...
I've thought the same thing, but I believe the intent is "if it comes with doors, they must be installed". I'm sure I (or a lawyer) could get me out of a ticket if I wanted to dispute it, but I doubt it would prevent getting one.
That's why I'm happy you can get half doors when ordering for the...
Nice! I know there have been a lot of people using that sticker as a reason to argue that the law is stupid. Sadly, it doesn’t work...most officers will not bother pulling you over unless you are doing something else illegal, but all it takes is that one cop who is having a bad day or is still...
JK: roof off many times; have dual tops too. Doors have never come off since we're not allowed to here in BC due to the stupid wording of a MVA law that states if the vehicle is manufactured with doors, they must be affixed. Only the CJs and MBs are allowed to go door-less here as doors...
Awesome post! I just happened across it at ~2:30am (couldn’t sleep), saw it was 5 pages and thought “I’ll just read the first post and the rest later” and here I am at the end of the thread. Great info.
And is your name seriously “Rhoades”?? Seems apropos! :like:
Question for those with HAs: according to jeep.ca, it has the wide track axles. I can't tell 100% from the pics I've seen, but do the fenders have the extra lip like the Max Tow fenders to account for the extra width? Are they 2-piece flares or one piece like the Overland and other non-wide axle...
