Finally hit me, so here we go:
Build date: May 2019 (050123)
Mileage when it first occurred: 67,810
How many times has it occurred: 4 trips, flashing CEL 20+ times
What exact codes did it throw: P0300, P0171 P2096 the first trip, last trip added P0133 and P0137
Is the issue on going? Y
If so...
I can add some info here. First four oil changes were under the Jeep Wave, and all oil changes since were done when the oil change percentage reached 5% (Going forward I will be performing them every 5k). Oil used after the Jeep wave changes expired has been Pennzoil premium full synthetic...
I figured I would follow up in here since I haven’t seen any newer threads on this topic. I had my rockers and lifters replaced this week (and spark plugs and some seals while everything was apart) and it took out my passenger intake cam as well.
I have the Baja Boss AT in 35x12.5R17 on Method 703 w/ 0mm offset on a stock ride height JTR (with 1" teraflex leveling puck in the front). I have had them since July of 2022 and love them. They are a heavier tire, but pretty quiet, and grip has been great on and off road. Off road it does not...
That sounds like a great plan, shouldn't have an issue doing that stretch in 3 days as long as you skip the Western loop in TN. I have heard most of that loop is pavement anyways. We averaged about 100 miles a day on our trip. Definitely do not want to go alone, as depending on the trail...
Sounds like I am not alone with this issue. Started noticing an abnormal tick above 2500rpm. No codes (other than unrelated issues that were already there), oil levels good, everything seems to check out so all signs point to the lash adjusters and rockers. Noise seems to be coming primarily...
Awesome looking build, I am excited to see what more you have planned for it. I see you tested it on the DBBB, I went last year for the first time and loved it. If you haven't ran the KAT yet, you will enjoy that too - I ran about half of it between Christmas and New Years, starting near Stanton...
Our club transitioned from CB to FRS a few years ago. I personally have a FCC license in case I need to transmit on the GMRS frequencies, but for the most part I stay on FRS channels. There are only a handful of people in our club that have the FCC license, and even fewer with HAM licenses.

In 2023 I Resolve to Offroad with Metalcloak!
To fulfill my pledge I need:
1. JT Gladiator 3.5" Game Changer Suspension (Rocksport)
2. UnderCloak Integrated Armor System, JT Gladiator, 3.6L Motor
3. MetalCloak Steering System, JL Wrangler | JT Gladiator, Fox Edition for the...
Finally got around to resolving this issue a couple weeks ago. Ended up being the clock spring. Replaced the clock spring, and all the issues with ACC and steering wheel functions are gone. The DTC's have yet to reappear as well.
Best option - both. I keep a Noco jump box and a set of standard jumper cables. Each has their use, and its cheap redundancy that doesn't add much weight or take up much space.
I have the Jeep slush mats, and my wife has weathertech (albeit not in a Jeep). Personally, I prefer the Jeep/Mopar. Weathertech is a harder, thicker and less pliable material, with more texturing. The Jeep is a more traditional rubber floor mat, and in my opinion a little nicer.
That is really unfortunate, I am sorry to hear about your experience and I hope it does not keep you from trying out other trails, ideally in a more controlled and appropriate environment. The Jeep club I am a part of has a few 101 courses we host, as well as 201 and Winching and Recovery...
It is right above the transmission, kind of hard to get to but there is enough room to at least get a hand up there. I would suggest waiting until everything has cooled off though, as the transmission can be pretty hot to the touch. Ask me how I know lol.
For spraying the lysol, I would pull...
Interesting. I put on 35x12.5r17 Baja Boss AT a couple months back, and also noticed a new faint hum, mostly on the highway. Not when accelerating or decelerating, but only when at a constant speed, usually on flat ground. Running 32psi cold, might try dropping it a little bit to see if it...
So far, yes. Between unclogging the drain, spraying the AC evap coil cleaning foam up through the drain, and spraying some lysol into each vent and into the blower motor area (where the cabin air filter lives) it seems to have remedied the issue, at least for now. Only time will tell, but for...
I had the same thought, but I couldn't find a straightforward way to get access to the coils without pulling out most of the dash, or drilling a hole into the HVAC case.
I ended up using the Kool It foam cleaner up through the drain, and it seemed to work well. AC blows a little cooler than...
I tried the lysol trick others have done, and it freshened up the smell the last two days, but I fear the source is still in there somewhere. I also fished a wire into the drain, and blew compressed air in to try to unclog it. Today was hot and humid, so I sat in my Jeep with the AC on for 20...
Hey All, about a month or two ago I started noticing an occasional vinegar smell on hot days, right as I start up the AC. It has gotten worse, to the point where I have to open all the windows for a few minutes when I get into the JT. My Gladiator is a 2020, with 60k miles. After doing some...
