Agree 100% with you on the cost and it not being as necessary once you have some skills under your belt. If I lived out your way, I wouldn't go to them much anymore, but beggars can't be choosers over on this side of the country.
That sucks man. Valid rant. To me, the ethos of jeep offroading is being there for each other and making sure everyone gets out. And I agree the breakdowns and delays are some of the most memorable and fun stuff!
I've also done many event-based and club rides and they are a VERY mixed bag...
Luckily they backed off that stupid double occupancy for a lot of the events. That's usually only for the ones that sell out in seconds like Moab and the Rubicon. JJUSA for sure started getting very greedy and stupid after COVID. We backed off going to as many as we used to for the higher...
Haha. I'm right there with you. Too many wild stories (and evidence) of burnt vehicles, police incidents and the 'real land owner' running people off for me to want to risk jeeping there anymore. As they say "I'm getting too old for this $hit!". Haha. Would love for it to actually go legit...
Southington is still a decent option, but they recently cut their events down from monthly to only 4-6 events a year. The land owner has been expanding into all sorts of different events there now (I did a Spartan race there last year). I used to love taking newbies there more often. It was a...
There is Jeep Jamboree USA and Jeepers Jamboree. I've done probably 15+ events with Jeep Jamboree USA over the past 10+ years at different locations and enjoyed all but one of them.
Everyone has hit on most of the major points. Where you live can have a big impact on if they make sense for...
Welcome to the Mojave club! Great color choice.
We had our Mojave out on the beaches in Cape Cod earlier this year and it was fantastic. Even at the slower speeds.
If you really want to open it up and have some fun, Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Michigan was a blast in the Mojave. I have...
You'll love the Mojave. From all the rubi owners I talked to that switched, they said the Mojave is just more comfy and rides way better. We drove ours 6hrs up to Silver Lake Sand dunes in MI last year and recently drove 12hrs to Cape Cod and took her out on the beach there. The highway...
I love that Mojito green! If it wasn't for my wife being in love with the Punkin orange Mojave we have, that green would be putting bad ideas in my head for trade-in.
Fun place. We went out and did Tin Cup trail too while there. I was extremely impressed with the Mojave suspension there. I could drive it in the dunes the way I used to ride my ATV there. We even found a place around the middle of the dunes and hopped a few short jumps with it!
Is that Silver Lake? We had the Mojave up there for Jeep Invasion in May and had a blast. Those razor backs on Test Hill will get you! I pulled a few folks off the peak and had to get pulled from the peak myself too. Sadly, no pics.
They do not. Like most things Stellantis, I think its darts and a dart board. Some special colors hang out forever and others seem to never re-surface (WHERE ARE YOU GECKO AND MOJITO?!).
I saw a Snazzberry Willys JT on my drive to work today and even with the gross OH road salt all over it...
I'd say that's a good way to make lemonade out of lemons.
I usually try my best to stay away from dealers unless its something I absolutely can't do on my own or is a recall. I agree with you it should be covered, but we could probably make a laundry list of things dealers/ Stellantis should...
Haha. Perspective is a wonderful thing, isn't it?
I love my 07 JKU, but with its age, offroading it and 137k on the odometer; she's no cush ride. To add on top of that, it also has the much desired (sarcasm) 3.8 engine and 4-speed transmission. That coupled with 4.10 gears, 35s, steel...
You beat me to the punch on everything being like that. I could call on death's door and my doctor won't be able to see me for 6 weeks. My Ram needed a simple ECM update for a recall and it was a 6 week wait. Thankfully it wasn't anything that required me not to drive it. Sadly, insanely...
I've owned a lifted 2007 JKU for 13yrs now and added a 2023 Mojave to the herd this past Fall. I have a 2015 Camaro SS 1LE that I love, but the wife and I have struck up more conversations and gotten more complements on both jeeps than we have ever got in the Camaro.
I'll be hard pressed to...
Given you have a 2023, I doubt this is it, but it also has that distinct pop of a U-joint about to give up the ghost with chewed up or missing bearings. However, that's usually more in 4WD and under load.
Agreed since that's what I have on my 2023 Mojave too. Haha. Only I have the MTs and black hardtop.
NEVER believe the Jeep (or any Stellantis site) website. That thing is purely there for you to find vehicles already on lots. It almost never matches what you can actually order at any...
I'd skip it. I have the big 12in screen in my Ram and I still prefer using Google Maps to their Tom Tom nav. And that Tom Tom one looks way better than the 8in Uconnect ones in the Jeep.
