I used to be a software engineer in the industry. I'd bet dollars to donuts it's pretty fully automated. There are a variety of systems that need to talk to each other, and various compliance requirements, etc. They probably have a routine they go through with every vehicle that falls off the...
I have been anticipating ordering my JT with a body color top, because I will absolutely be running a topper, and I think it just looks better. More finished. That is the first black topper I've seen that I thought looks genuinely good. I'm not a fan of heat still though, and those tops tend to...
This is off topic in pretty much every way, but this whole thread is at this point, so wotthahell.
I've had several sports cars over the years. I'm a bit engine guy, and that's pretty much the first (and often last) thing I look at. I love a straight six. Almost as much as a flat six. Which...
Just go to one of the ~2 dealers that will give everyone 8% below invoice. Better than all the affiliate programs. If you're on the eastern half of the country, that's Gupton. SLC out west.
Avocational watchmaker/professional engineer here. I don't bother with electric timepieces, but I know how they and the software/hardware in the vehicle work. You likely have a defective oscillator/timing chip on the board. Two ways to fix it:
1) Get Jeep to replace the unit. Maybe, maybe...
I noticed that the 35"s come with 4.56 or optionally 4.88 R&P. That 4.56 is clearly for drivability and mpg, and makes me rethink my strategy of retaining 4.10. I think the 4.88 is just to get the crawl ratio up to the moon (100:1). Big R&D budgets help tremendously in sussing out the best way...
I said it earlier in this thread, and echoed it in the other thread specifically about the 40.4 teaser:
Jeep was spotted a bit ago testing 35" tires. It's an easy factory option, they're already set up to run them without modification, and most critically Ford is already doing it. I haven't...
Jeep was recently spotted testing 35"s. I think that's the ceiling on that front. 40.4° departure with said tires is obscure, but if this was the Bluff the Listener game on Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me, that seems most like to me so far.
There are few things in life more frustrating than the people who should know something clearly having no clue... I've been designing around some pumps for work, and I found out the other day the manufacturer buys in the control boards. Days and weeks of trying to figure out why what they're...
Saw this morning (though I've not been keeping tabs lately due to work/life insanity) that the Sunrider will be a factory option going forward starting immediately. $895 It's probably already been stated elsewhere on the site, and I guess it's more than a rumor at this point, but seems like this...
Diesel costs you payload and towing capacity in this platform due to cooling restrictions. If you need to tow, the V6 with the automatic transmission is required to get the best performance in that regard.
MY22 rumors not yet discussed here: 4XE and gorilla glass windshield as a $95 factory option.
I'm a definite yes on the latter. The windshield on my wife's JKUR is being replaced in a week or two (hard to get appointments right now), and we talked about going the gorilla glass route. Pricey for...
