So I'm looking to purchase a OVS 270 degree awning with all 3 walls. Which side do you guys reccomend and why? I do plan on getting a RTT.

I have an AluCab awning on the driver’s side. I like it on that side because I can look out and see it to make sure it is not going to hit a tree when wheeling. I also have an AluCab camper so the driver’s side awning makes more sense right hand door swing.

I have that awning. Went with passenger side mounting. Best reason I have is you can be on the shoulder of the road or sidewalk and deploy it. Awesome awning and I use it all the time. Makes a lot of shade.
Did you purchase the walls? Wondering if it's worth the investment.

Do you guys have these on full size racks? I tend to be more attracted to the 1/2 or 3/4 racks and wonder if they are tall enough for the awnings.

I have the datin fabrication canopy rack. I guess you could still use it with a half rack but you'll have to be sitting constantly or walking completely bent over. Why not get an adjustable rack? That's what I would have gotten if an option was available that would accommodate the softopper.

I have the Kinsman awning on my GFC. Went driver as I am going to be the person using it the most, as well as being able to keep an eye on it better vs on the passenger side.

Don't mind my friend walking around the JT LOL

If you are planning on using the awning for shade they're as valuable as the awning itself because of how much footprint you lose as the sun goes down. For rain they're nice to have and offer better protection for people and gear near the edges of the awning.

I have two for my 2500 square ARB awning and move the front/rear one as needed. They pack down to about a medium sleeping bag stuff sack.

I have wall #1 which goes from the front of the truck and down the side. This also has a door. Makes for a nice semi enclosed area. Staking out the wall to make knee walls gives good useable space.

Here's what it looks like. Just set up the AluCab RTT this past week. Don't have the wall up in this shot but it shows the huge coverage of the OVS 270 awning.

My logic resulted in the same conclusion for the same reason.

So i went with the Driver side because i wanted to be able to see it when reversing because itll sit a little higher when mounted. Did i get a good deal???? Walls 1,2, and 3 are included!

So I finally recieved my awning. I just installed it today but didnt have enough daylight to set it up. Did anyone else find that the 25mm bolts that hold the awning to the brackets seem too short? I mean, I think it should be about 5mm longer atleast. The bolt is barely exposed after the flat and split lock washer. I ordered new bolts because if they ever get a little loose they would literally just come off.

If you guy havent installed led strips on the awning, you have to! More then pleased with the outcome. Purchased heat sinks because i wanted a moisture free enviroment for the strips. Powered them with a jump pack to test because my lifepo4 battery is still in transit. So each strip post draws almost 1amp. So itll have a 7amp draw with the leds i used.

Do you have a link? I put some of the LED string lights on it but did not like them. That looks a lot better.
