Thanks. I'm going to have to assume that they cleaned up inside the top end when they put the camshaft back in etc. I'm getting a full oil change on Monday. No choice but to drive about 300 miles between now and then. My ride is my only ride... I'm doing the oil change at my preferred...
As for the OP and the reason for this post:
Build date: (see picture below) can be found on drivers door well. MDH=month/day/hour (24 hour format)
Mileage when it first occurred: 21,000ish
How many times has it occurred: intermittent at high RPM, plus clattering sound above 3K RMS, until CEL...
So - I too had a misfire issue that I thought was a bad coil. Dealership told me - nope. Camshaft got ground to crap. Misfire was because an intake valve was not opening up fully. Result of one or more bad rockers. OK says I - thanks for fixing... Oh BTW I said to the dealership - did you...
You are right of course - I have a tazer but haven't installed it yet. Too worried about dealership BS... but yes you are right the tazer solves a lot of this...
Curious to know how those ram springs work out. I have the Mopar 2inch lift and it is great but the springs are soft and I get a lot of sag even when towing a light trailer.
Joining late. I have to tell you that engaging lockers is a bit of a process. You have to shift into low, then trigger the switch which takes a couple of seconds for the computer to go through its checks. My point is that it is not a convenience flip on/flip off thing. Thats all. The 4WD...
Some may disagree but I think you will find the airbags will help. If you have LED headlinghts at a minimum it means that people won't be flashing you too much. Just my opinion though...
My rig is now in the shop with a bad ignition coil... still loving it but a bit annoyed. Order soon. Mine took about 8 weeks (ordered very early Nov and received early January).
I love the bumper. the skid plate is designed to end just short of the frame horns. I would take some photos but my rig is in the shop indefinitely. They think it has a bad coil but they can't look at it or work on it for 2 weeks because COVID, no employees blah blah. Check back in a couple...
hahah - nothing. i just meant it looks like the cooler is the focus of the shot. Which it was for her, but in that photo my Gladiator was only a month old. Just passed my 1 yr anniversary. 22700 miles and I'm still loving it!
Thanks. Pretty sure it is not pinging. On down hills when I am off the gas pedal I still get the clattering sound above 3K RPM. I'm beginning to think I have something loose that is just vibrating...
87 like the manual says... i thought about knocking but it doesn't sound like that... also the clatter is there even when I am off the gas eg decelerating... thanks!
Isn't this a rebadged hummer? I think they did a better job up front. I'm not crazy about the flying buttresses but I do know a few Avalanche enthusiasts who are going to wet themselves when they see this. And for the record, some of them are not white... don't drag me into that guy's silly...
But not your brakes please ... ?
Seriously though - I live in MN and I notice creaking sounds from the rear suspension. I have airbags (Airlift 1000) and I just assumed they were binding the springs or something. I think it is normal...
About a month ago i noticed a distinct relatively high pitched and fast clatter or chatter coming from my engine. From the driver's seat it definitely sounds like it is coming from the far right side of the engine. I was able to determine that the sound comes on just below 3,000rpm and is...
Thanks - love them! I used to run Hakkapeliitta snows on a '93 Saab 900, a '95 e350 touring and an 04 BMW 325ix touring. I don't have pics unfortunately and studs are illegal in Minnesota but I WAS INVINCIBLE! Great tires. I haven't needed snows in a long time but good to know they...
