After 3 months, to the date, the Jeep finally arrived. Rubicon Diesel! It's the first vehicle I've custom ordered and it was so worth the wait!
BTW I got an amazing deal from Mike Clinnin at Mall of GA Jeep. Also great service!
I had the D1 to D regress and the special scheduling on my build sheet too. My order did go from D1 to D in August right around the time the plant shut down. So I just assumed that was the reason.
4L is always going to be more jerky than 4H when just driving. It's harder to modulate the throttle because of how quickly the revs climb in 4L. You have to learn to slowly use the accelerator, hold it there, and slowly release it. If you just jab at it, its going to lurch forward. If you...
It's best to switch to 4L while in motion or while none of the drivetrain is binded up, like you were when you were stuck.
I believe you can lock the rear diff in 4H with a Tazer Mini. Also this guy on youtube explains another way to lock the rear diff without a programmer. (I don't know if this...
I'm all for electric vehicles and would love an electric truck. I just want one last run with an ICE vehicle before switching. For a daily driver, the Rivian or Cybertruck are going to be amazing vehicles. I'll never need more range during daily driving. Also the max I'm willing to drive before...
I guess you could buy like 3 of the cheaper air compressors and cycle them to fill up the tires. Still, I just went with an ARB twin for convenience and reliability.
Just got word from my dealer that the Jeep is ready to be picked up. Going to go tomorrow to pick it up!
July 5: ordered
September 13: Built
October : 5 pick up
So 3 months for a fully loaded JTR diesel.
I think there are way too many variables to make it feasible. Mostly the ones you listed.
The delivery time varies wildly for Jeep. For example, I ordered a JTRD on July 5 and I'm going to pick it up this week. That's 3 months. Others got theirs in a month.
You'd have to live somewhat close...
$43k for a truck with manual windows and locks. I wouldn't do it...
For example, I ordered a fully loaded rubicon diesel and the price came out to be $57,500. With the current $2k incentives, I'm going to be right around $59k out the door.
If your window sticker is available you should be able to search it by entering your vin after the = in the link below.

I was able to get a control number on 9/29/2021. It does say that it expires 1/3/2022. I don't know if the expiration is a set number of days or if 1/3/2022 is actually the last day they'll honor the discount.
Also the JT is still eligible for the discount as of 10/2/2021. But the wrangler is...
