I'm coming from a Tacoma where one of my first mods were frame mounted rock sliders weighing nearly 100lb per side...things were stout. I've got a Rubicon and I was wondering how capable/durable are the rock rails that come with the rubicon?
I realize the rubicon rails are body mounted which...
@Clayton Off Road -- just to clarify: what shock size do you guys recommend for 3.5" lift kit front/rear: specifically shock size collapsed & max extended? i didn't see that information on your website.
32.5" extended seems like a lot, I was a looking at the fox 2.5 series 3.5-4" rear and...
it seems that with skyjacker springs what sort of rake do you have?
also wondering what made you chose skyjacker specifically vs rock krawler or rusty's who also offer a diesel specific spring
which shocks did you pair the springs with? also curious with all rusty's springs how is the rake? did you measure to see if you actually got 4" out of them?
what's the reason you prefer the evo springs over the RK springs? in my case i don't think they'd be a viable option bc i'm not trying to get more than 4" lift and they only offer a 2.5 and 4"... just curious what your thought process was to see if that would apply to the other options available
I'm trying to build a ~ 3.5" kit for my rubicon eco diesel.
Plan: components from Clayton offroad plus kit with springs sourced elsewhere. Likely Falcon 3.3 shocks, maybe Fox 2.5 depending on stock availability and how much I want to hurt my wallet.
Question is which springs to go with:

which 4” kit? And the rationale for more expensive shocks is better ride and they're rebuildable, vs cheaper shocks which don't ride as well and can only be replaced at the end of their life
I ran king 2.5 with adjusters when I had a Tacoma and they were awesome but I heard the lead time for kings is just as bad if not worse. Personally if I had the cash I’d go Fox with adjusters.
Honestly if the falcon 3.3 are going to be delayed I may just put a spacer lift on as a temporary...
i wonder if that will still work with kits that use a rear track bar relocation bracket. My understanding is that relocation of track bar higher is important to help reduce excessive body roll. ie. Rock krawler uses it in their diesel kit and terraflex sells one
any idea what the Terraflex...
planning on running falcon 3.3 —I agree the clayton would be “fine” but the springs in front are designed for the gas and they are working on developing a diesel specific front spring for their kit
So I was really hoping that @Clayton Off Road would be out with their 3.5" Overland Plus kit with Diesel Specific Springs by now but no luck there.
Looking for advice for other options for lifts in the 3-4" range. I think 4.5" would probably be more than I'd need as I only plan to run 37"...
I'm taking delivery in < 1 week and would like to get truck vinyl wrapped ASAP. I'm looking for recommendations in the bay area -- preferable < 1 hr from San Jose.
photo is roughly color i'm going for
totally get it -- i spent way too many hours perfecting the design on my last truck, probably spent ~ 100 hours building out a custom truck bed storage system. times a premium, and this time around i'm gonna try to find a bit more balance between DIY and not spending all my free time building up...
