  2. Gladiator dual swing rear bumper prototype renderings.

What is the largest tire size anyone is running with the dual swing still functioning? I know the pix on the JCR website show a 37". I'm wondering if this will work with a 39" and still have functionality of dual swing arm...
  3. RSI Smartcap

Anyone mount maxtrax on the side door using the expedition essentials mount like this: I'm curious if you you still have access to the hinges and which gas struts upgraded to?
  4. Rubicon for overlanding/Rubicon trail, request thoughts!

My rig is basically built to do what you're talking about -- an overlanding rig that can still keep up with some of more technical trails like the rubicon. I'm not going the trails that guys with dana 60s and 42" tires and a bobbed bed but i'm doing more than 99% of Tacoma owners (speaking as a...
  5. RSI Smartcap

I'm curious if anyone has attached a dune whip to the roof of the RSI smart cap without a roof rack? I'm planning on going to dunes in a few weeks and the requirement is to have a flag mounted 8 ft above the ground -- I'd rather not attach directly to my bumpers to avoid drilling, so figured a...
  6. Painting RSIc

sorry misunderstood, hotheads for main roof for sure. i would DIY something like that for RSI rather than painting white
  7. Painting RSIc

I have the standard non painted roof and the wrap is avery denison rugged version which is textured. to reduce temps you should get hot heads headliner -- makes a big difference
  8. Midland MXT275 Install

I'm curious if you did any modification to the back of the mxt275 mic to get magnet to stick aside from removing screw for standard mic clip? the back surface is not totally flat since it has some grooves for the mic holder and the diameter of the circle is smaller than the magnet you showed. i...

  10. Shop in Eastbay for suspension and re-gear

  11. Rugged Ridge HD Stubby Front Bumper on Rubicon

i made it work with modification, not sure if mine was a quality issue but I had to cut off about 1/2" of the bumper on one side to make it work with the rubi skid and I had to figure out some washers and spacers for the winch bracket to not hit the sway bar disconnect
  12. RSI Smartcap

Has anyone added chase lights to their RSI smarcap? Was thinking somehting like the Baja designs S2. Would love to see pics of mounting/wiring. Bonus for flush mount
  13. Finally got all the parts and installed the RockKrawler 3.0 Adventure Series Lift!

curious if you've had a chance to see how to does flexed out a bit even if just a driveway test? I had an issue with Rusty diesel springs bowing into the lip of the bump stop holder on both sides of the front (they're going to send me a new pair to see if it was a 1 off issue). would be really...
  14. Clayton Offroad Overland Lift Kit

i have their 3.5" overland plus kit, very happy with it. they're a great company to work with and would highly recommend them. since they don't have diesel front springs i went with rusty's 4" springs in the front and since the rear is loaded out often for overland trips I added a 3/4" spacer to...
  15. Powering dometic fridge

In my previous build I had it hardwired to a dual battery set up. Currently, I'm using the Dometic PLB40 -- pretty compact, depending on abient temps will likely keep your fridge going for 1-2 days. If you'e going to be boondocked for > 24 hours you can get a solar panel that will plug in to...
  16. Let's see all those Gladiators with a FULL vinyl wrap!

Alphawerks in Santa Clara - I think for the standard wrap it was about $6500, but total ended up around $8k bc wrap material I used isn't standard, the wrap on the cap was extra and i had them do all the door jams so it looked good when doors off (also not standard). plus got ceramic coated...
  17. Let's see all those Gladiators with a FULL vinyl wrap!

Ended up getting a full wrap including my RSI smartcap. Wasn't cheap but I think it came out pretty good:
  18. Brake Upgrades

Now that I'm rolling on 37s I can tell there is a lot more rotational inertia making the brakes work harder. Not quite as bad as when I used to drive a 12,000 ambulance but I would like the safety factor of improved stopping distance. I've only got about 2.5k miles on my truck so pads are...
