The same thing basically happened to me. I ended up ordering exactly what I wanted and while it sucked that I had to wait 3.5 months, I'm so glad I got the JT I wanted with no compromises.

I don't know what's most popular...but I know I wanted Gobi or Stingray. There were zero of either available and I custom ordered the Stingray...super happy with my choice.

I drove my 2015 F150 on 87 Octane for 5 years, zero problems. You're right that eventually there will be more maintenance costs but I guess it depends how long you keep your ride. For me personally I never keep one longer than 5-6 years.

500 miles on a tank...with the 3.6??? I know I'm running 37's with 4.10 gears but even with the stock 33's I don't see any way I'm getting anything close to that. I currently get around 300 miles with 37" tires.

Wow, I didn't know this....that sucks. I planned a road trip down to Utah with my family once the Corona thing clears up and the borders are open. I can't imagine having the tranny die or something and not being covered.
