I got my first duck last Sat at Home Despot. Was walking back to my JT just as a young lady was walking back to a JL with another cutie driving. I saw the duck on the door handle and gave them a wave as they drove by.
Must have been the new Alucab RTT!
Made my day! Old coots still like...
Here's what it looks like. Just set up the AluCab RTT this past week. Don't have the wall up in this shot but it shows the huge coverage of the OVS 270 awning.
I have wall #1 which goes from the front of the truck and down the side. This also has a door. Makes for a nice semi enclosed area. Staking out the wall to make knee walls gives good useable space.
I have that awning. Went with passenger side mounting. Best reason I have is you can be on the shoulder of the road or sidewalk and deploy it. Awesome awning and I use it all the time. Makes a lot of shade.
Had to shuffle the RTT position a bit and fabricated some plates to mount the OVS 270 awning to the AluCab awning mounts connected to the RTT. Everything fit up pretty well in the end. Really digging the setup.
RTT arrived Monday early afternoon. Trucking company was totally unprepared to unload it. Driver said he wasn't allowed to back up...... had to unload the box truck in the street. One pallet jack for a nearly ten foot skid. WTF. I was better prepared than he was for sure.
Anyhow, I got...
In the interest of hand safety you should lift your truck so that it always requires an upward reach to get your hand onto the cap hatch handle.
Just putting that out there for anyone who's partner isn't quite on board getting a lift kit done......
My RTT has shipped from NJ. Was hoping it would arrive today but it looks like it won't be until Monday. Really stoked for the arrival and getting it set up.
Nice Cannondale. I'm long in the tooth and electrified mine. 1800 watt mid drive, 24A/hr 52v lithium battery. More range than my butt. Just a blast to ride. Built the rack that plugs into, the receiver, still allows towing a trailer.
Surprised it didn't shatter into little pieces. You should get it filled/repaired. Might make it last longer.
How you doing Jon? I haven't done much posting in awhile. Have had the JT out of winter storage about a month now. Got some good stuff going on. Waiting delivery of a AluCab RTT...
Getting prepped for the arrival of my AluCab RTT. Set up a 23 ft aluminum gin pole on my ‘48 CJ2a. This is the only other Jeep I've had until the JT arrived on the scene. I've owned it for 35 years. It took a few model years before another Jeep came along that I wanted to own....
I had...
My AluCab RTT has left Australia. If it doesn't end up on the news sideways in the Suez Canal I hope to see it in 4-5 weeks. I predict some time off from work coming.......
So does that trailer have a dead axle? That may leave something to be desired trailering.
Should be pretty easy to set up with a torsion axle after reworking the fenders for clearance.
The four jackstands are pretty sweet. Overall looks really stout too.
Whats it weigh right now?
Pulled the trigger and placed my order for an AluCab RTT V3.1 Expedition. Pretty stoked but delivery won't be until June. That gives me time to dust off the '48 CJ2a and get the gin pole set up on the front. Will use that to install the tent on top of the Gladiator. I'm also going to try the...
