WOW, GREAT POINT! I just looked at the Rock Hard FAD. Boy do I wish I had gone that route! I really like the Metal Cloak design but I really like the fit of the Rock Hard FAD... "If I only knew then what I know now" :) GREAT SOLUTION!
I trimmed about 3/8" from the edge off of the Hard Rock LCA skid plate. I then trimmed the Metal Cloak FAD skid plate on a radius so the LCA bolt would not hit that skid plate.
This is a follow up to a similar post in "what did you do to your gladiator". I just finished installing the Metal Cloak Front Axle Disconnect skid plate and I ran into an issue. I had an interference fit with the Rock Hard front Lower Control Arm skid plate that I had previously installed. I...
I finished up my last project today. I installed the Metal Cloak stabilizer relocation kit. Previously, I installed the Metal Cloak front axle disconnect skid plate , the Rusty's lower control arm skid plates and the Rock Hard lower control arm skid plates. I also installed the Asfir engine and...
I installed the Metal Cloak Front Axle Disconnect skid plate today. I ran into issues. I had an interference fit with the Hard Rock front Lower Control Arm skid plate that I had previously installed. I had to remove the LCA skid plate and trimmed it and the FAD skid. What a pain, but got it to...
Have you considered the MP Concept Forged Aluminum Front Bumper. It is exactly like the 3 piece steel bumper. I believe they may still be on sale. I think it is lighter than the plastic bumper.
"I added the Rusty’s LCA skids. Had to drill out one of the holes on each skid. The absolute hardest part was getting the LCA to line back up on one side. Had to rock the tire back and forth while a friend jammed the bolt through. i taped the nuts Over the holes where the smaller bots went -...
I installed the Rusty's LCA's with minimal difficulties and no drilling. First, I read all the posts with tips and how to's on this site. THANKS! What I did was remove the large control arm bolt and push the control arm up and out of the way. I then started with the smallest hole towards the...
I installed the Metal Cloak rear differential skid plate and the Rusty's lower control arm skid plates. I will post some tips that helped me with the LCA's in the TECH: Underbody/skid plate section.
I am not award of any US suppliers. Mine arrived in 8 days via DHL. I compared several other engine skids and decided the "ASFIR" has the best value. I sprayed it with black "STEEL-IT" paint and installed it without any issues.
"Did you reach out to me by chance? Because everyone who has, has been taken care of :)
Matt"
IT IS OBVIOUS THAT I DID NOT CONTACT YOU/MATT. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CALL A "SPECIAL" PERSON TO GET REASONABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I JUST CALLED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE 800 PHONE NUMBER.... THE BOTTOM LINE...
I bought from True Value Hardware 9/16" by 3 1/2" grade 8 bolts, nuts and lock washers for the shock skid plates. I also use Loctite. Rock Hard provide the hardware for the LCA skids.
I ordered the "Rancho" front skid plate from Amazon. It came with the silver (too small) U-bolt. I called the Rancho Customer Support. I was told they do not have a fix. SO, WHATS UP
"MATT @RanchoShocks? I was also told if you don't use the lock washer you can get the nuts started and bend the...
I installed the Rough Country front Differential skid plate. I like it's design. It is well built, good welds and really beefy. It is more reasonably priced and I would recommend you consider it.
I installed the Rock Hard shock skid plates a couple days ago. I bought 9/16" by 3 1/2 inch grade 8 bolts, nuts and lock washers from True Value Hardware. I also use Loctite. I think it is worth the piece of mind to buy the longer bolts. My 2 cents!
Installed the Rock Hard lower control arm and shock skid plates. Installed a Rough County front differential skid plate and then an ASFIR engine skid plate and their transfer case skid plate. I have ordered the Metal Cloak rear differential skid plate and the Rusty's LCA skid plates.
I installed the engine skid plate and the transfer skid plate yesterday. Very high quality products. The only issue I had was a bit of an interference fit with my front differential skid plate. I was able to cut a little here and there and made it work. I would strongly recommend these skid...
