It sounds like you asking how the Selec-Trac system works.
If so ... Selec-Trac, with the transfer case selector in 4H AUTO, uses a variable clutch system to vary the amount of power sent to the front based on a lot of factors including detected slip. In 4H AUTO, the variable clutch system...
I found that if I tried to use my fingers the hose depth wasn't consistent and it looked like cr@p. That is why I had to come up with an installation tool.
Mine looks great and still works great, and it's been 4 years for me.
Take a look at Post #2 in this thread for tips in making the installation look good.
You are going to have issues trying to run a separate amber turn signal because the JT wiring layout uses the brake light as a signal light by pulsing the brake light when the turn signal is on.
Curt makes an 'adapter' for trailers that use a separate turn signal...
In the Owner's Manual, there is no differentiation between regular and Selec-Trac transfer cases or transmissions as far as fluid required.
All the Selec-Trac 'magic' happens in the Transfer case.
I use a spray bottle with distilled water for the interior along with an assortment of microfiber towels and 100% cotton white t-shirts. If I need to get something greasy off, I'll first use dawn dish soap diluted with water in a spray bottle, then follow with distilled water.
On my leather, I...
Just be careful with any type of degreaser. Remember that a leak path may also be a path back into the diff. So, I would used shop towels dampened with your choise of degreaser to clean up around the pinion area. IMO, avoid spraying the area with a 'spray-on' or 'spray-on & wash-off' degreaser.
For fluid to get slung everywhere like that, my bet is that the pinion seal is leaking. So, I would wipe everything down and focus on that area as the source of the leak.
On the JKs, there have been reports of those plug welds weeping oil. Not sure I've heard of it happening on the JL/JT, but...
I don't hear the "valve train ticking" sound on the video, but if some guy on yootube states "improper oil specification", then I need to change oil viscosity immediately.
Probably a good thing. You do not want to use a tap to try to restore/clean threads - use a proper thread chaser as Hootbro recommended. A tap will cut/remove material while a chaser is made to re-form the threads.
Another method to use for wind noise/whistle isolation is to cover all the gaps around the windshield and windshield frame with blue painters tape. If the noise goes away, then start removing sections of tape until the noise comes back.
I had a loud whistling noise in my 21 Mojave when it was...
Look into taking an off-road driving class/course. I took an off-road driving class once, and part of it was learning how to recover from an off-camber tip. I actually took the vehicle (an older Land Cruiser) past the tipping point, then turned the wheels down hill and hit the gas to recover...
I use Valvoline synthetic in my JT Mojave.
ECGS built me a HD Dana 44 rear axle for my JK Rubicon. It came with a 5-year warranty as long as I used Lucas 85W-140 conventional gear oil.
Here is what they say about gear oil selection...
For a really crude parts cleaner, I have used a 5-gallon bucket with about 4 gallons of gas in it. Use coat hangers to hang stuff off the rim of the bucket for easy retrieval. Extra-long chemical-resistant gloves and an assortment of brushes are needed as well.
