  1. Michael's slow and steady Gobi Overland build

My bumper finally arrived. It was on back order, but after installing it and my Warn VR EVO 12-S today, I think it was worth the wait. Same angle as the shot above but with the new bumper: And from the front:
  2. Gobi gone too?

Wow, I guess they changed it up. I would have bought from Tri-City in N.C. if that had been the case two months ago.
  3. Gobi gone too?

Did you talk to Craig Benner at Koons? His email is [email protected]. As of April 10, which is the day I bought mine, they were doing 8% on all Gladiators and 8.5% if you have a Tread Lightly membership active for at least 30 days.
  4. Gobi Gladiator... new pics

What fenders are those? I thought I was happy with my factory painted fenders until I saw yours. Dammit!
  5. Music in your Gladiator

Foo Fighters Smashing Pumpkins Anything on Sirius's Lithium channel Kenny Chesney Radio on Pandora 90s and early 2000s country Lately, a LOT of Rage Against the Machine
  6. Gobi gone too?

I was at the beach today and saw about eight Gladiators, all red, white, and black. I have only ever seen one other Gobi in the wild.
  7. Gobi gone too?

My condolences to the guys who wanted to order a Gobi, but the selfish part of me is happy if this is true. I like having a unique color.
  8. Recommendations for front bumper under $600?

I bought the Ace stubby. It retails for $595, but I either found a discount or got free shipping. Can’t recall which. It was on back order and took a month to get here, but they were clear about they from the beginning due to COVID-19, and they communicated frequently about progress toward...
  9. UConnect 8.4 glitching

Update: The radio glitch randomly disappeared, but calls still aren’t routing to UConnect through CarPlay.
  10. UConnect 8.4 glitching

This morning, I went through a drive through to get some breakfast and noticed one of my Sirius stations hadn’t changed I’m a while. No sound. I couldn’t change the station either. AM/FM works fine but when I switch back to Sirius, it’s still glitched on that same screen. I restarted the radio...
  11. What's a good price off MSRP/below invoice for a Max Tow?

There is a dealership in N.C. (Tri-City) offering 7% below invoice on all Gladiators, and there's another in Virginia near D.C. (Koons) offering 8% below invoice. Both have a presence on this forum, and both have great reputations. It might be worth the drive or a one-way flight. Tri-City is a...
  12. Not seeing any overland pictures

It would be extremely tight, and I imagine you'd rub trying to do anything other than drive in a straight line on a flat road.
  13. Dealer Scams

Yeah, but you get that sweet, sweet Nitrogen! Can't put a price tag on that. Wait... what's that? ... Okay, now I'm being told you can put a price tag on that.
  14. Pic request (light switch)

I haven't seen a better spot than the factory auxiliary switches. Most vendors sell a kit for a little over $300 that you can install yourself. https://www.quadratec.com/p/mopar/auxiliary-switch-bank-wrangler-jl-gladiator-jt
  15. Gobi Gladiator... new pics

Thanks! That's a 3.5" lift with 37x12.50 tires on 17" Black Rhino Armory wheels.
  16. Gobi

I almost ordered from Travis at Tri-City. It came down to Koons having the one in stock I really wanted and only being about an hour further, but based on my conversation with Travis, I wouldn’t have hesitated at all to order from Tri-City.
  17. Gobi

How close to Virginia are you? Koons in Tyson’s Corner is doing no-haggle 8% below invoice (8.5% with Tread Lightly membership). When I bought my Overland, they tacked on the extra rebates, and I ended up a little more than $11,000 under MSRP. They have a thread on the group buy in the vendor...
  18. Why did everyone decide their trim level (sport vs rubicon etc)?

The only feature I didn't see between a fully optioned Sport S and the Overland was remote proximity locks. It was far from a dealbreaker, but now that I have it, I really do like that feature. When it came down to the final decision, I was between a Sport S with Max Tow and 8.4" radio or a...
  19. Why did everyone decide their trim level (sport vs rubicon etc)?

I really do get the hate/overlooking/whatever you want to call it. Hell, I'm guilty of doing the same and I've owned a Sahara and an Overland. Both times, I completely discounted this trim before circling back after I reconsidered the value of what options I was getting. Throw in some factory...
  20. Jeep did a great job on this truck

Commenting to say I like those sliders a lot. I'd love to sell my Overland steps (which I hate), but my wife already complains about how tall the Jeep is. She'd have a fit if I "downgraded" my steps.
