I have seen one Gator Sport in the Greenville area and one Hydro Sport in the Kinston area. I havenāt seen any other Gobis.
Most of the Gladiators I have seen (maybe a dozen between here and the beach) have been white or black with a couple of red tossed in for good measure.
I'm driving an Overland with 3.73 gears and 37s. It's nowhere near ideal, but it is honestly not nearly as bad as I had expected. I recalibrated my tire size with a Tazer, and I'm getting a little over 17 mpg. My initial plan was to install the lift and tires, drive the Jeep for a few days to...
I ordered a JKU Hard Rock Rubicon from the factory in 205 and drove it for 94,000 miles. I can count on one hand the number of times I used the lockers or electric swaybar disconnect.
When I started researching Gladiators, I was torn between the Sport S with Max Tow and another Rubicon. Then I...
I have owned a TJ, two JKUs, and now my Gladiator. The hinge bolts come out the first time my doors come off, and they disappear into the void, never to be seen again.
I need to do my bed-liner, too. After I get my bumper and winch installed, that's next on my list. Then Katzkin leather (dark saddle since I have factory cloth) and finally a regear for the bigger tires.
Can't wait.
12 mpg is very low.
I drove right at 2000 miles on my stock suspension and tires and was averaging a little over 17 mpg with mostly in-town and back roads miles. After the 3.5ā lift and 37s, I got 14.8 mpg for the next 130 miles of similar driving (though Iām sure that number was a little off...
So, Iāve been calling around. Locally, most shops are charging around $1800-$2000.
I just got off the phone with an off-road shop that quoted $2000-$2500, depending on which brand of gears I decided to go with. I thought that was a little high. Then he hit me with āper axle.ā I couldnāt get off...
Oh yeah? What year?
I grew up in Lexington, graduated from NCSU in ā04, spent a year and a half in Kenly, and have been in the Kinston area ever since.
I used tirebuyer.com. They had a Facebook ad for 7% off their listed price, and the Honey browser extension I use with Chrome found a deeper discount (8%, I think.)
I havenāt regeared yet, but I plan to fairly soon. Like I said, the Jeep is drivable, but I can absolutely tell Iāve lost a good...
I went with Ironman All-Country MTs. They were $750 to my front door for four tires. I couldn't find a better deal anywhere. When I measured them on the Jeep, they measured out to right at 35.75", but I really like the Jeep's stance now.
I drive an auto.
I just switched to 37s on my Overland and installed a Tazer to calibrate the speedometer. Iāve only had them for about 50 miles, but so far itās not as bad as I was prepared for. I still want to go to 4.88, but my Jeep is absolutely drivable in the meantime.
Several companies sell modules that let you plug into your Jeep to recalibrate. AEVās ProCal was the gold standard in the JK world. Z Automotiveās Tazer seems to be the go-to for Gladiators and JLs. Thatās what I bought, and it couldnāt have been any easier to install and program.
I installed my 3.5ā lift and 37s on my Overland last week, and I installed my Tazer and recalibrated for the bigger tires today. The Tazer made a huge difference, and the Jeep is absolutely drivable until I can regear. I still want to regear to 4.88, but itās not nearly as bad as I thought it...
